The flat was very well equipped and check in was perfect. Use of the lift was also a plus even though we mainly used the stairs. The outdoor terrace was lovely. The welcome bottle of wine and chocolate we greatly received.

The location was brilliant. The apartment was a home from home with everything you needed. Even the settee in a recliner. Perfect!

We liked the location, the terrace with great views and the cleanliness. The comfortable sofa with usb sockets was great and it was peaceful at night.

The bed was too firm so we didn’t always sleep well. The coffee pods for the machine were not available in local stores only on line, so the coffee machine was unusable once we had used the few complimentary pods at the property. A better solution would be to have a machine that takes pods available in the many local supermarkets. An information pack regarding the local area would have been useful as we weren’t supplied with any details about, for example, rubbish disposal or emergency contacts.

Fantastic terrace, great location, clean

The double bed has seen better days and was very uncomfortable. Everything else in the apartment was top quality, the bed lets it down.

As the name suggests, the location of the apartment is excellent and is indeed in the heart of the old town. It is based on a small plaza which has several restaurants, so there is great people watching from the balcony, along with stunning views of the castle. A lovely place to have your morning coffee or afternoon wine, and it would get sun for most of the day in the summer. The apartment is on the 4th floor but is easily accessible via a good sized and reassuringly modern lift. We were met by the owner's Mum, who was lovely, and who showed us around the place pointing out where all the things we may need were located. It is clean and very nicely decorated; managing to combine a traditional vibe with new amenities. The shower is excellent, bed very comfy and it is great that there is a washing machine and dish washer. The owner/manager, Galina, was excellent in her communication with us, and very friendly and helpful. She was kind enough to let us check in two hours early, and found us a place to store our luggage when our flight landed very early. Alicante is a lovely city and the old town is the best part. There are many excellent places to eat and drink on the doorstep of this apartment and literally around the corner. The trek up to the castle is testing but worth it!

There were occasional sewer smells that wafted up to the balcony from below, but these were rare and quickly passed. Also, this is nothing to fault the owners for. A microwave would have been helpful, as we struggled to work out the small combination oven. But I'm nit-picking. The place is amazing!
