Magpies Nest

The location was great. The description was clear and we knew there would be steps down to the house which was helpful so we knew to pack less. It is nice to have a free standing house and the wifi worked well

While the description says fire and electric heating, we were told the electric in the living area did not work and all we would have was the fire in the main area. (there is one small oil heater in the main bedroom) There was no kindling, no firelighters and you had to bring the wood in from outside - when you arrive at a place after 3pm, and it is freezing, it is not the first thing you want to do to chop wood for kindling and go out and buy what is needed to start your fire to warm up. Once the fire is up and running it will heat the space , but come the morning you have to start again to warm it up. A better ax would have helped as the very small one is not easy if you don't have the strength. For the heater in the drying room, what would help if there was an instruction on the door to say where to turn on as there are multiple switches and you have to ensure the thermostat is set too or it won't come on. We worked it out with trial and error and then it was fine.

The chalet was excellent for our needs. There is a fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge with views of the mountain and a private car space. The chalet is close to a bus stop and quite close to the main part of the village. The HWS worked very well, the showers were hot.

The gas heating was only just adequate. The Coonara wood heater was next to useless. The wicker "lounge" chairs are uncomfortable after a short time.

Location was great.

The heater to drying room and the heater to living room were not working when we arrived. The managers were very helpful and arranged an electrician to deal with the drying room heater on the day.

Location & open fire, hot shower, sound of creek running past at night!

Very tired decor and furniture. Didn’t even have salt & pepper!

The property had everything in the advertisement

The access to property was not disclosed until we received check in text. My husband has mobility problems and we never would have book if the add disclosed there were 25 steps down to the property, therefore I had to carry all our belongings down and up stairs by myself.
