Northstay - Town Square

Location was perfect, not having to walk far or travel for amenities was priceless in the snowy weather. The room was extremely cozy and warm with everything we could need provided.

We were unable to leave our luggage at the property and check-in wasn't until 4pm so we had to find and pay for a luggage facility which caught us off guard, however, we should have looked into this prior to arriving. Not enough pillows.

The apartment is downtown which is a good location to see the city (not the aurora borealis however). Wifi was good.

The apartment was not cleaned properly, you could see stains on the sofa, the carpet and the tables. In the kitchen there were leftovers from previous guests (pasta, sauces etc.). This was the biggest minus, as for the price we paid we would expect a super clean flat. It was not easy to find the entrance of the building as it is in a parking lot behind the main street. The windows of the apartment don't open properly. There is no elevator, so you have to take the stairs to the 3rd floor.

Beautiful and well located flat in Tromsø. Nice and warm for a winter trip, the bed was super comfortable.

We had issues with the shower leaking under the glass door, meaning we have to clean out the water leaks after our shower everyday which was a pain. Also, there were no small shower gel and shampoos when we arrived which is always a nice touch at least for the first day before we get time to buy some.

Location

The first night the hot water for shower ran out when it’s the turn for the 3rd person, i.e. me. I had to take a cold shower in the winter night. We asked the owner about this issue the next day and it took him almost 2 days to reply. Of course we had already figured out what to do before getting his reply. But the fact that it took him so long to reply seems a bit irresponsible to me. Another issue is: I know the apartment is on the 3rd floor. But I didn’t know that the staircase is narrow and the steps are high. We have 3 big suitcases and so it’s a bit frustrated to have to carry the luggage up and down along those staircases.

The location is unbeatable. I really enjoyed being surrounded by shopping, restaurants, and convenience stores. I was able to walk to my pick up spots for various tours. The apartment is clean, too. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The customer service was excellent, too.

I understood that the property had no elevator, and I was okay with that. However, the stairs are very narrow and it’s a winding stair case, which makes it very difficult to take luggage up. Additionally, it’s actually four flight of stairs when you count the ground level. The apartment itself is in the back of the building, which I did not like. At first, I had trouble finding the apartment because my Uber dropped me off near an alley close to the front of the building, which is a hair salon.

Overall stay is good except the need to walk up the stairs to third level to our unit with big luggage. Would suggest to mention this in the property photo. Also to re locate those garbage bins right in front of at the apartment entrance elsewhere.

Perfect location to stay in Tromso. All the restaurants are at walking distance, and the bus stops are available within 1-6 mins walking distance. If you've booked tours with companies, the pickup point is the bus terminal which will be 8 mins from this place. The room is great for 3 people to stay. The large TV was really nice, had all the facilities for washing and drying clothes and the kitchen was well-equippes. The living room is very well designed.

The stairs were extremely narrow and we had luggages. It was very tiring to go up and down, one luggage at a time for 3 floors. Elevators or wider stairs would have been nice. The second bed is kept at an attic type of area which will require to climb the ladder. May not be suitable for an elderly person.
