Bori's Guesthouse

What can we say?! Our stay with Iia and Bori was the best. We were welcomed so friendly by Iia. The dinner was always delicious and a lot. The conversations were great although we didn't speak the same language. Every evening we stayed for hours in the kitchen. No question was too much, it was my cousin's birthday and Iia went above and beyond to help to get a cake and make a surprise. Iva Suchari!

Nothing, we wish we could have stayed longer.

Iamze and Boris are wonderful hosts. We don't speak georgian and russian, but we shared so much with them. Iamze showed us how to make the Sulguni cheese. We tasted her succulent candied plum and apple of paradise. Great location. Simple and clean room. Thanks

The hostess and host are super kind. We arrived late at night so everything in town was closed, but the madam offered us a free meal. They don't speak English but are patient enough to communicate through translation tools. They even helped us book a taxi for the next day and we got to meet the driver at 23:00 XD The conditions are humble but totally acceptable for an old and remote village.

The hosts Boris and his wife are really nice and caring. The rooms are comfortable and the view of the house absolutely stunning. The dinner was cooked fresh and tasty.

Missing sitting possibilities in the front yard. There is just a small wooden bench, the stair steps or two wonky chairs.

When my boyfriend and I arrived the host and two more men invited us to their national holiday celebration. While my boyfriend and the others went outside smoking, the host wanted to toast with me. He took advantadge and forced me to kiss him in the mouth, grabbing my head strongly while changing from the kiss from one cheeck to the other. Luckily he was very drunk and I could push him away. The one that spoke english tried to apologise, but he and the others still tried to make it look as a normal tradition (it wasn't, the toasts I had previously done in Georgia didn't end up with sexual harrassment). We spent the evening in the village to avoid meeting them in the house. When we got back they weren't there, and decided to stay for the night because we were exhausted from the trek. Next morning we payed for the night and cancelled the second one to leave Ushguli asap. The woman there in the morning (no trace of the men of the day before) began to yell at us in georgian to pay for the 2 nights, and called a younger man to speak to us in english. When we told them what had happened they again tried to pretend it was a tradition, and the woman kept yelling at us. We kept strong and paid only for the first one (which was still painful) and left, still hearing her while walking down the street. To make things even worse, after 10 minutes she acused us of stealing the towels, which we had left drying outside the day before.

The lady who runs the guesthouse is very friendly and kind. The room and bathroom are both really clean. Towels provided. Great price. Walking distance to everything in Ushguli. Would definitely stay again.

No WiFi but we knew this before going, so wasn't a problem for us. Only one bathroom, so often meant you were waiting to use it - but again, wasn't too much of a problem.

The owners are quite nice and helpful

It could be cleaner The wifi isnt working properly , the owner shares his internet from his mobile phone, when he is not at the pla ce there is no internet

Best hosts in our Scan stay. So friendly, welcoming and helpful. Amazing cooking too! We would repeat!

The beds were nice, the place is clean. we took a horse tour with the owner.

The curtain in our room was transparent, so it didn't block the light from outside at all. In addition, the doors of the rooms have a unique design that pass the light from the corridor into the room (so better turn it off). The toilet and shower room is located on the first floor while the guest rooms are on the second, which is something to take into consideration.

We love everything about Bori's Guesthouse. Boris and his wife are wonderful people. We felt so good there since the first minute and we already miss both of them. We strongly recommend this place to everyone and we hope to be back t soon!
