Beautiful LOFT in the Center of Brussels

Le quartier des Marolles n'est pas très accueillant, voire un peu glauque, surtout le soir. Appartement en rez-de-chaussée, les fenêtres opaques donnent directement sur les coursives. Très bruyant, et mal insonorisé, on entend les sirènes de police, motos...et voisins ! La literie et oreillers pas très confort. Petit conseil, demandez à la propriétaire le digicode du petit portail qui donne accès à la boîte aux lettres. En effet il n'est pas noté sur le guide qu'elle communique en amont par mail.

It was very close to the train station, which was great for commuting to different cities. The apartment is very spacious and has all the necessary amenities. We were able to communicate easily with the owner. The apartment also had essential items like oil, sugar, salt, and more.

Perhaps because it was close to the train station, the neighborhood didn't seem very safe. There are metro works around it, making it a bit difficult to walk to the entrance and the center.

Pésimo. Tened mucho cuidado si vuestro vuelo es tarde. Fatal trato. Leer bien los comentarios. Teníamos la reserva hecha desde enero y, viajamos en julio del 2025. Ya desde enero, habíamos avisado que el vuelo llegaba tarde. Precisamente reservamos este alojamiento porque ponía que se podía entrar más tarde, pagando 25€. Nos dijo que sin problema. 1 día antes de volar,, nos dice que llegamos muy tarde y que no podemos entrar tan tarde. Le decimos que en su anuncio en la web pone que si, además que nos lo confirmó ya en enero. Lo intenta solucionar y nos dice que si, pero que le tenemos que dar 50€ en mano a la persona que nos venga a abrir. No se lo discutimos, porque así teníamos asegurado el alojamiento. El mismo día del vuelo, en el aeropuerto, nuestro vuelo fue retrasado. Minutos antes de coger el avión, nos dice que nos busquemos un hotel, que no podemos entrar al alojamiento, cuando ya teníamos apalabrado que avisáramos cuando llegáramos para que nos abrieran. Tuvimos que pagar una noche de hotel extra a última hora. Hablamos con la propietaria por teléfono, por el chat de la aplicación, y con atención al cliente de Booking.com. Nadie nos daba solución, nos dejaron en la calle y tuvimos que pagar un hotel para esa noche. Quedamos con ella que entraríamos al día siguiente, por la mañana. Después la llamó Booking.com, para llamarle la atención por lo sucedido y, decirle que no estaba respetando las condiciones de su alojamiento según la web. Así pues, al día siguiente no apareció por la mañana para abrirnos, y tuvimos que entrar a la hora que quiso ella, condicionando el plan de todo el día. Voy con lo que es el apartamento. No os dejéis engañar por las fotos. Parece muy moderno y bien, pero está todo muy usado, en mal estado y picado. Las camas son muy incómodas y las almohadas están raídas. Es como dormir en una tabla. En la ducha, no se puede regular el agua y sale hirviendo, para hacerte quemaduras. Inviable ducharse sin quemarte.

We had a comfortable stay in this well-appointed apartment, which had everything we needed. The space was generous, with plenty of room to relax, and we especially enjoyed the outdoor balcony for communal time.

Overall, the apartment was clean, though there were some signs of wear and tear — a fresh coat of paint in places would really enhance the space. One issue we encountered was the access to the property due to ongoing roadworks nearby, which made entering the car garage quite difficult. It would have been helpful to receive advance notice about this. Additionally, while the bedding was provided, it did have a slightly musty smell, which could be improved. Despite these minor inconveniences, the apartment served us well and had many positives. With a bit of attention to detail, it could be even better.

No heating, bedroom door had no lock, sliding door to second bedroom didn’t close it was jammed. The location is in a very run down part of town.

Property is very clean, spacious and has all the facilities. Close to near by stations, restaurants, supermarket, etc.

Location is close to Brussels Midi station, which is good but the area is not very clean as per Belgium standards.

The location

The property had a unique odor. The artwork was not offensive but it was not restful or inviting. The kitchen was well equipped but not needed for our stay. The pillows and linen were stained and worn. The headboard in the primary was upholstered but it was cracked and flaked onto the sheets. On our last night there was a rave party in a unit above us and it lasted until after 2:00 am. Price went up considerably booking 3 adults vs 2. Not a good value for the money unless you need to use the kitchen.

We stayed at this loft as a family of four - two parents and two adult children. The apartment is spacious and modern, with a stylish interior, but there are a few areas that could use improvement (detailed below). The bedding arrangements were adequate, though it's worth noting that the second bedroom has one double bed with a single sheet. Since my sibling and I were sharing the bed, we requested an extra sheet and duvet. The host was very responsive and tried their best to help, but due to the Easter holidays, they weren’t able to provide a duvet. They did offer us the option to purchase one ourselves and be reimbursed, which was appreciated. In the end, we managed without it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The complimentary coffee was a nice touch and genuinely delicious.

Things to improve: The shower temperature regulator wasn’t working properly, resulting in uncomfortably hot water. The bathroom has a modern but not very practical sink, WC sink was quite small as well. Sound insulation from the inner courtyard is poor - we could clearly hear everything happening outside.
