Goddess Artemis Balcony Apartment Near Athens Airport

The view is absolutely amazing and the house itself has a special charm.

The veranda had magnificent views with lots of querky corners to sit.

The house is a little old fashioned but I like that.

Amazing Value for money. It's just like a beautiful home on a hill.

I wouldn't say I didn't like it but that hill to walk back up from the local supermarket is a 10 min 15% incline.

It was the perfect spot for our one night layover in Athens/Artemida. The home provides the Grecian feel and warmth and lends to the charm of the town of Artemida. Here you see and feel the real everyday life of the Greeks - not the commerciality of touristy Athens. The house sleeps four adults comfortably. One bedroom with a large bed for two and two singles in the living room - with surprisingly comfortable beds! The house itself is beautifully decorated with a museum of vintage treasures and trinkets throughout the entire place. You could spend over an hour discovering something wow-ing! We were playing “I spy” the whole time. All the amenities needed if you’re there for more than one night too - laundry, well stocked spice cabinets, utensils, etc. and a terrace to die for with a million dollar view! Chill out with a book or a glass of wine and enjoy the Grecian sunset. The town is 5mins drive or, if you’re adventurous, a 30min walk down the hill. Head down and walk along the Artemis beach promenade of restaurants and pick one for some real Greek hospitality and food. The Dolphins restaurant was our favourite. But the main prize goes the owners, Aphrodite and Panagiotis! You cannot ask for better hosts than this mother and son dynamic duo. They responded and returned your calls/messages right away. They answered all your questions, helped with ordering takeout, arranged all our transportation - from the home to the airport even into the little town and back, going above and beyond the call. My friend left his phone in the back of a cab and Panagiotis immediately took over and tracked the driver down, and had the phone returned to us right away. We were out late that evening and he was on the phone checking and calling to ensure we got the phone back and got home safe that evening. Who do you know does that!? Just incredible hospitality and kindness from both of them up to the end.

Location. The house is located at the top of a hill which lends to the incredible vista i mentioned above, however walking is a challenge if you suffer from bad knees. Even if you’re driving, it can be a little problem. Even for the taxis, you can hear/see them struggling to come up the little hill - it’s that steep. But they will come! Food is delivered on motor bikes. Also, it’s hard to get an Uber/taxi on your own. Because of the location, the drivers always ask where you’re going to in order to make it worth their while to come up there. If it’s just into the little town below, forget about it. They won’t come for you. But DO NOT let this deter you. Contact the hosts and they will arrange transportation for your RIGHT AWAY - anywhere you are - to take you out or bring you back home. Be sure to negotiate a taxi quote before as the local taxi drivers can be very sneaky and gouge the hell out of you.
