Amazing apartment

The property was light and airy, it felt clean inside and the beds were very comfortable. The amenities (tele, towels, toilet paper, coffee pods) were good and a thoughtful touch.

There was not hot water and we didn’t get any hot water throughout the weekend. We were a group of young 20 y/o females and we didn’t feel safe on the road the apartment is on.

The apartment has everything you need, plenty of space, everything needed in the kitchen, comfy beds and great bathroom. They had the detail of leaving us in the fridge several local beers and a bottle of water. Well located if you are going to take the train to move around Belgium.

The location as it is close to a secondary train station in a big city is kind of weird, during the day no problem at all. During the night you can feel uncomfortable and see weird/dangerous people. For this reason I wouldn’t recommend this apartment to families or people who feel fear easily. The apartment itself is safe, but the streets around it does not seem at all.

Everything, fantastic location, close to Midi, beautiful apartment, very large and spacious. Very clean. Full amenities, very well apointed and furnished. Would recommend to anyone. Would go back to brussels, just to stay here.

Nothing. Was beyond expectations.

Close to train station

First of all, we were scheduled to check in at 1300 and were given a lockbox code to use. When we arrived, we opened the lock box but it was empty. We immediately contacted the host via the booking.com message to let her know. After waiting 30 minutes outside of the gate in the cold weather with my small children, she finally responded and demanded us to take a photo of the empty lockbox, which we did (booking.com app does not allow photo attachments so we had to email her). Then she finally agreed to send the cleaners back to let us in. She claimed the cleaner saw the keys in the lockbox 4 hours before we arrived. When the cleaner finally arrived at 1430, he let us in and called the host, Lisa, who I spoke with over the phone. She said the keys must have been stolen and tried to apologize, but my main concern was the safety of my family since the keys to the apartment were missing. I asked her when the lockbox code was last changed and she admitted it was only changed once a week and a few previous guest had stayed one night and checked out at 0600 that morning. I told her I did not feel comfortable sleeping overnight since the keys to the apartment were missing, but agreed to stay if she changed the locks. She agreed to call a locksmith to change the locks, and I told her it needed to be done by 1700 because we had dinner reservations. We were all exhausted from just traveling internationally overnight, and my kids needed to nap so I literally barricaded the door and stood guard while my children slept just in case someone tried to break in. I requested her to notify me of the time and locksmith name so I knew who would be coming. She did not message me until after 1600 stating that someone would come between 1700-1800 to change the locks. At 1810, I received a message from her that the locksmith had arrived and to let him in. He changed the locks promptly and left the new set of keys to the apartment.

It was a pleasant stay. Nice apartment, and Lisa was very helpfull.

Not so much the location.

We used this apartment as a stop for the next day’s train to Bruges and it is perfect for that. You can practically see the gate from leaving the station!! The key safe and getting in was easy enough and you’re welcomed by a huge flat, the ceilings are so high and the decor is gorgeous…we felt it was a waste for just one night as we arrived late and checked out at 10am so we’ll be back.

The only thing is an overhead shower would’ve been lovely.
