Quiet very central & stylish apt

Very central location, spacious rooms, air conditioning, 2 bathrooms

Could do with being painted, musty smell in bathrooms, would have liked 2 sets of keys as there was 3 of us staying

My wife and grown-up sons stayed for six nights and found the apartment almost entirely suitable for our needs. We didn't eat in at all and so cannot comment on the kitchen appliances, but all other electricals were fine. The air-conditioning was especially welcome during a couple of very hot nights and was quiet enough to leave on while sleeping. The location is superb with easy access to a metro, tram, and bus routes as well as countless bars and restaurants to suit most tastes and budgets. The mainline Keleti station is a walkable distance away for the able-bodied. There is a four-person lift to access the fourth-floor apartment or a wide, low-steps staircase. The photos are a reasonably accurate representation of the interior which was clean if not spotless on arrival. The exterior shots are less accurate, the entrance is unattractive, and right next to an Irish-themed pub. We had no problem with noise from outside whatsoever though. At least one other recent reviewer has commented on a foul smell. This was still present in the smaller of the two shower rooms which we did not use for this reason. We did our best to keep the smell at bay by running cold water for a few minutes each day and then keeping the door firmly shut. The owner should rectify this issue properly.

The listing mentions the need to be quiet in the apartment between 21:00 and 8:00 and, having made clear that we were a family group, was not pleased to receive a message from the owner shortly before arriving threatening eviction without refund should neighbours complain of our noise. I suspect this is due to a previous booking using the flat for a party. Unrepaired damage in a couple of places is probably further evidence of this theory.

Location is awesome, as well as the apartment, a lot of light during the day. The dinning room/kitchen is not big but is fine, rooms are huge.

They still need to fix the smell of one of the bathrooms as it smells like humidity during the day or add any ventilation machine. Additional I would suggest to add a door in the small bathroom in the shower.

Location was superb, central to everything we needed and minutes from the Hop on hop off bus we used. Communication and response time from host was excellent. There was an issue with a foul smell in the bathrooms, and the host came and tried to rectify it within hours. If ever I am back in Budapest I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Initially was disappointed that there was no separate lounge/ living room (with a sofa/settee) however due to location we did not need it in the end as we were hardly in the apartment during the day. The foul smell was coming from outside, so although the host did their best to get rid of it, unless the windows were shut it would be there. Although the apartment has been updated and modernised, there are some areas where the finishing is not great, however this did not affect our stay one bit.
