Christos Apartments

The accommodation was not convenient at all, lots of items were missing (mirror in the bathroom, no strainer…). Everything was dirty, especially the bathroom, the toilets, the fridge and the few dishes available. When we arrived, the owner made a mistake and we had to switch the appartement with the other tenants after they settled for a few hours. And the heaters did NOT work, it was very cold (we booked it in December). I don’t recommend this accommodation at all, avoid this as much as possible! A fuir !

I was visiting for a wedding nearby in Ineia and stayed for 3 nights, and the main factors for me were location and cost. It was really well priced and the host made it really easy when I was running later than planned from the airport, and although she couldn't extend me by a day as I'd hoped, she always responded quickly and politely. The host lives downstairs I think. I stayed in the 1 bed apartment (there is also a 2 bed next door). It had a proper double bedroom with large wardrobes and a little balcony, and the kitchen/diner is separated a bit from the lounge, so compared to a studio apt or hotel room it really has a lot of space. I've just realised from other reviews, that the sofas were pullout beds. It will obviously feel less spacious for 4 people staying, but for 1 or 2 it's really generous. It was nice having the balcony for a beer and a smoke, the TV and the internet seemed fine. I wasn't expecting to have an iron available, which was really useful. I was here in the end of October and the area seemed very quiet so I didn't really explore locally that much. I imagine it's busier during the summer when people retreat to the higher areas like this to get away from the heat at sea level. It was noticeably cooler than Pafos and Limassol. If you're looking for super-modern luxury or old world charming, this isn't the apartment for you. The décor and woodwork as well as the kitchen and bathroom are probably 25-30 years old. But it's all fairly clean, tidy, and functional, and the bed was fine. And I was even able to park directly outside (I don't know if that's always the case!) Some people have commented on having trouble finding it by the address. I put "Christos Apartments Drousia" in Google Maps and went straight there. It is on a bend and is a little hidden behind a tree, but the pin was in the right place at that time.

If I'm being super-picky; the sofas were a little lumpy with a few small stains (but clean), the fridge was switched off when I arrived (but did actually cool down pretty quickly so was fine for the supplies I'd brought with me), having an iron was a nice touch but I did miss having a toaster as I couldn't work out how to get the oven grill working! Shower pressure was fine but not amazing (this is important to some people!)

The apartment is spacious and has two decent sized bedrooms.

There is no exact address on Booking.com (not one that you can enter on Google Maps) and the location that is shown on the Booking.com map is wrong. This made us almost drive into a narrow gap near the town’s fountain! We tried to text the owner but they did not respond for the first hour or so. Eventually we tried to Google “Christos Apartments” and it showed up elsewhere in town, where we eventually found it after comparing the house to pictures of Booking. The owners were not there but they eventually texted us they were at the pub and to find them there if we needed them. This felt quite unprofessional, especially since the location is not properly marked on Booking, you have no clear address to use instead and the owners are unresponsive even though they know you’re about to arrive. Also one of the air conditionings’ remote did not work. The fridge was not on when we arrived so we could not store our products immediately.

Very cute house, clean and spacious appartment with lot of facilites and amenities. Nice terrace and comfy beds. Fantastic value for money, highly recommended if you want to stay in an authentic quiet village in the mountains of Cyprus to have a quick look into the local people's life.

The only negative point that we were unable to find the appartment with any map app. The address in Booking.com directed us to the other side of the village. We didn't see any further check in details but once we contacted the host, she replied to us very soon and she was very nice.

Beds could more confortable, Apartment could be much cleaner and the fridge was not working.
