Hotel la Cabaña

The shower was nice and warm and the bed was comfortable.

Don't expect to get anything more than a bed, toilet and shower. You have access to a kitchen, but it was lacking soap, coffee machine, cutting board, no sharp knife.

Quiet area, super helpful staff, comfy bed and hot water! They kept my bad for 2 days while I was hiking and let me use the shower when I came back!

Excellent "base camp" to organize trekking in El Cocuy National Natural Park. Jairo, the owner, will help you with the registration process, the compulsory guide and the high altitude cabaña. National park administration and stop for "el lechero" (milk truck) that will bring you up the mountain are very close. Rooms are simple, but clean; fully equipped kitchen. Calculate enough time for acclimatisation, the treks reach almost 5000 m!

We arrived early by bus and were welcomed by the host. Early check in was no problem. The place itself is ok for 1 night. Hot water and enough blankets for cold nights.

Wifi didn't work in our room. The room itself downstairs was really cold even during the day. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Kitchen was ok to use but really basic.
