Residenza Agli Scavi

The apartment is not like it was on the photos, it is very worn out. There was very strong smell of humid and dampness.

Big and pleasant apartment, well equipped, with a small sitting area in front of it. Parking in the courtyard. Entry is made with access codes, received before the check in on whatsapp. 15 min walk to the train station for the Circumvesuviana or the archaeological site of Herculaneum. Vesuvius can be seen from the courtyard.

The train noise-but in the night is quiet.

We did not stay here so cannot comment on the interior unfortunately. I was in shock at exterior of the buildings surrounding that I never stayed we moved on to nearby Pompeii a much better atmosphere and our host couldn't do enough for us.

The Location was in an area that was dirty, when we arrived at the gate there was a dead cat. We arrived 2 hours early and asked to check in but was denied. It was hot and my dog was overheating and we needed to stop after a long drive. There was no nearby cafe bar for us. It was very local and we felt uncomfortable as tourists we were feeling we did not belong. We asked to cancel our second night and was happy to pay the first night but was flatly denied. I was taken aback by his attitude and felt it was unkind.It would have been a nice gesture of good will but none was forthcoming. Disappointed and not welcoming at all.

Good location and AC. Also, the contact with the owner was very good. There is a train station nearby but it gets quiet in the night.

We didn’t realize the apartment is on a ground level but it’s our fault we didn’t check it.
