The Snug

Room only. The Snug was small as clearly advertised but attractive and big enough for our one night needs. Very nice bathroom. With a bath. Tea coffee sugar milk sachets provided. Cross Keys pub over the road very handy. welcoming helpful friendly and good food. Lovely village including Castle ruins. Great walks fields hills and riverside.

Property was a bit cold. Esp at night and early morning. Could not find any info on operating Central heating.. Nothing on the info folder. Texted owner for details but no reply until much later. An apology for late reply received thank you... but still no info on operating heating... I think visitors would appreciate this. Basic tea/coffee making but no other welcoming items apart from one very tiny biscuit and a small fairy cake. Spare folding bed was a bitv heavy for us to manoeuvre but very comfortable to sleep on..nice clean sheets. Host requestsed we remove all of these and put in washer.

Really good size, we stayed with our dog for 4 nights but you could easily spend a week.

We booked last minute and couldn't be more pleased with the value, presentation and even the personal touch of homemade cakes! Spacious kitchen with all decent cooking equipment and comfortable bed

We may have had a wander in the garden that was pictured, but we were unsure how to get round there. I'm sure the hosts would have been happy to help if we reached out though

The Snug was brilliantly situated for a quick trip to Symonds Yat, Ross-on-Wye and the Forest of Dean. The property itself was like the tardis! So much room for two people and really well set out.

Couldn’t improve it really. Was perfect for the stay.

The Snug is in a lovely village location. A nice piece of homemade lemon cake and some doggy biscuits was very welcoming. And just opposite a pub that did great food.

On arrival, it was very cold inside as the heating wasn't on. So we to keep our coats on for a while. Also concerned that the lounge is upstairs and the stairs don't have a safety rail. It is very concerning if you have mobility problems. Then again, in the morning, it was very cold again, and there was no heating on, as we got ready to check out.
