Steynshoop self-catering Valley Lodge

Morning view out of the front door was pretty enough. Manager tried to be helpful when we arrived. Beds were moderately comfortable.

The "gravel" road was actually a dirt farm road and even with a bigger SUV we struggled to get to the entrance. The cottage was a lot more "rustic" than we expected. Furniture was old and covered with sheets. Layout of the kitchen and appliances made no sense. Dust could be found all around - we are a taller family so it was very visible. Place smelled very moldy.

I booked the accommodation for my 40th birthday celebration, so I booked the 10 sleeper with the additional unit with 2 bedrooms. Once you turn into the gravel road, it had just rained the previous day, so it was a bumpy road. the venue itself everyone loved, we really had quality time. The gas fire places were a pleasant surprise because the nights were a bit chilly and there were electrical blankets.

The road going to the location was uneven for the smaller cars.

Loved the layout of the cottage the quiet space and the protected areas!

The dirt road is not very good condition

We enjoyed the scenery and relax erea with trees and the grounds was beautiful. People were friendly and helpful.

Trails was overgrown, cottage was not well equipped. Oven didn't work. Place was not very clean including crockery and cutlery. Bedding had marks and WiFi was faulty and poor signal.

Pieter was helpful, friendly and accommodating, and an absolutely beautiful area😊

Cleanliness of kitchen area unfortunately slightly lacking!
