Nomad Apartment Stay

Good location, near some good restaurants. Just far enough from the busy areas that it's quiet. The host provided great notes on directions and public transit to popular places. It was good for a short stay in Kumamoto. The internet was surprisingly very good. The apartment has all the tools you need to cook yourself as well.

The bunk beds aren't my favorite. I would've preferred just a larger futon instead. The room itself is quite small, like a normal studio in Japan.

Close to tram lines, easy to get to places like Kumamoto castle. Not so far from train station that if you need to take a taxi it won’t be too expensive. Good size and price for a solo traveler. The 7-11 across the road is handy if you don’t feel like cooking yourself. Post office within walking distance (next to tram stop). Staying in this apartment really made me reminisce back to when I lived in Japan teaching English.

It turns out that since I had last slept on a proper futon (many years before), I have gotten older and my back doesn’t like the thickness of a single regular futon anymore. I would have liked to have put the second futon mattress down on top for extra padding, but it was very high up on a shelf and I couldn’t reach it.

The property is well-maintained, and the check-in process was smooth. I could feel that the host had put effort into making the room cozy and comfortable for everyone to stay. There are multiple transportation options to reach the property, including walking from the station, taking the tram, or using the bus.

The room has puzzle foam mats, and I'm unsure how often these are cleaned or washed. Though it might not be the case, I feel like the mat has a smell. The neighborhood gives off a vibe that you might encounter yakuza or gangsters, but it could just be our perception.

Clean and convenient for a solo traveler that wants to visit Kumamoto city. It is close to a lot of places like museums, the castle, and shops. It is also easy to reach by public transportation.

Pretty clean and comfortable apartment will a lot of amenities. There are even two hidden kumamon in the room. Enjoy!
