Tolle, ruhige Lage mit gutem Restaurant gleich neben an. Auto solle jedoch vorhanden sein, da die Altstadt Mèrtola gegenüber liegt und zu Fuss schlecht erreichbar ist.

Very comfortable room with an amazing view of the city across the river. Spacious bathroom. The pool would have been lovely in warmer weather.

This unit was in the same building as the restaurant (owned by the same person). But when we stopped in there to get directions, the waiter sent us to a hotel on the next street, where no one was at the desk. So we went back to the restaurant, and the waiter finally phoned the owner who gave us verbal instructions as to where the room was and how to obtain the key from the lock box. Would have saved a lot of time and frustration if he had responded to my messages and sent the code and a diagram. Shared kitchenette had a mini fridge and microwave but no prep space.

We stopped at the restaurant of the same name to check in and were told to go 150 feet to the left. Uh oh, this doesn't look good but for $70, I guess we weren't expecting much. The receptionist/manager walked us back to the restaurant where there were four or five rooms, each surprisingly modern with twin beds, a microwave, a min-fridge, and a nice shower. And while we didn't use the pool, it looked great. Most importantly, the AC worked GREAT! But the main thing was the view. First, we ate dinner at the attached restaurant and enjoyed the food and drink and the amazing view of Mertola. (You're on the right side of the river to enjoy the view of the town!) Mertola is a wonderful stop with its castle and history.

Put aside your initial reaction because this is a rather rustic looking area (some construction happening at the end of the street). However, get a bottle of wine and enjoy the amazing view of the town!

The room was very clean and well designed, considering that it was such a tiny space. It was nice to look across at the village, although we didn't have a view from our room.

Although the outer walls of the hotel are thick and sturdy, the walls between the rooms are paper thin. We could hear our neighbours arrive, we could hear their conversation (rather loud and boisterous) and we could even hear them snoring. Not restful. The other disappointment was that the restaurant was closed. Since the hotel is out of town, this means driving back to town for dinner.
