This apartment is located among a complex of apartment buildings, known as Oceanfront Condominiums (OFC) in Nilaveli. OFC own a majority of the apartments, but there are a handful of individual owners who rent out their apartment(s) separately, such as this one, owned by a Canadian-Sri Lankan gentleman, who has been very accommodating throughout our stay. All apartments are maintained & managed by OFC. After the online booking, we requested for an early check-in (8:00) due to arriving in Trinco from Colombo via Night Train at 6:30. We also requested for a late check-out (18:00) due to our train leaving Trinco at 19:00. Both requests were promptly accepted. However, the early check in had to be changed later to 12:00, so we managed to find things to do in Trinco town until then. We arrived at the location by tuk (costing LKR 2000) and was welcomed by polite & friendly staff. Our bags were carried up to the 1st floor in Building 3, where this apartment is located. A quick rundown of the apartment & its works was shown, and then we had the whole space to ourselves for the next 6 nights. The apartment was very clean & organised. Neat, minimal & homely. It consists of 2 twin bedrooms adjacent to 1 separate bathroom, and 1 master bedroom with an attached bathroom. There's a fully-equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, gas cooker, sink & most of the crockery & cutlery you'll need. The dining & living rooms open to the balcony facing the beach and also the pool. AC units are fixed in all rooms & there's an extraction fan, sliding door & counter screen in the kitchen to keep cooking odours out of the rest of the apartment. The wifi & lighting were good. Overall, it is a well-designed, well-maintained apartment that I would recommend for 2-4 people. The security staff at the gates will arrange for tuks to take you anywhere, including a fresh seafood shopping run, which we did.

..prepare meals can be bought there. All the staff are very helpful, accommodating & friendly. We very much appreciate their assistance during our stay. OFC has an agreement with Poseidon Diving Centre nearby, who offer a 10% discount for their services to guests at OFC. We hired a boat & guides from them to visit Pigeon Island for snorkeling, & it was a good experience with trained staff, I would recommend guests to try this. The beach is nice, clean & shallow. It's perfect for a dip at any time of the day. The restaurant has some good meal options - I can't stop thinking of the delicious Chicken Koththu, which was mouthwatering. We would love to come here again and would certainly recommend it to our friends! Dislikes: The balcony has a direct view to the pool, and since the balcony walls are made of glass, there's not much privacy there. We used sheets to cover the walls when relaxing in the balcony. The pool was quite dirty throughout our stay, we used it only once & regretted it. OFC staff initially tried to over-charge me when making the full payment during check-in, saying that I should pay for 06 people if I am to book the whole apartment, although I had booked the whole apartment for 02 & the price quoted by Booking.com was final. I had to politely point out that he's wrong & showed by booking confirmation, after which he reluctantly agreed to accept the original price as payment. Very cheeky & unethical of OFC to try & make a quick buck on the side, which I'm assuming is without the owner's knowledge. I think this is because OFC prices for same types of apartments are much higher than this apartment & they aren't happy about it. I hope the owner doesn't change his prices in the future to match OFC's.

A comfortable place

Even though I booked this flight place via booking.com the place was not available when I arrived. the person in the reception had no idea that it’s booked by me. He offered us a different apartment in no time. It should be appreciated. It looks like they don’t keep track with booking.com

Need more kitchen utensils

Perfect spot, great pool, good accomodation. Has also decent food for breakfast or dinner.

The location is very good. but INTERNET? limited WIFI? everyday I had to ask for the internet.
