The Pond Lodges Barstobrick

We loved our short break at the pond Lodges. It was peaceful, and the views from the Lodges were beautiful. This was the perfect getaway that we needed. The Lodges had everything we needed to be comfortable for our visit. It was great that we could go out and explore the grounds of Barstobrick and enjoy the trails.

I would have liked to have seen a few more direction signs on the hot blast trail. In the beginning, we were a bit unsure which path to take.

I have nothing bad to say about the place.

Located on an equestrian centre, which was great as you could see many lovely ponies. Located near Kirkcudbright which is a lovely town, highly recommend the artisan cheese shop. Very close to the beach which was lovely even in January. Hot tub was lovely

The drive to the cabin could be better sign posted. We arrived in the dark and the sat nav only takes you to the entry of the property. This was also an issue for the couple in the cabin next to us. However, if you continue on with the road you will find the cabins. Shower could have been stronger but these issues definitely did not waste my stay this place was lovely!

The facilities in the lodge were outstanding, kitchen had everything you needed and the bed was really comfortable. We both had an an exceptionally great week and could not have asked for more.

The location was beautiful

Personal preference- prefer thicker pillows

The Lodge (Birch) was well equipped, immaculately clean and in a fabulous location with stunning views across the hills. The location near Castle Douglas was perfect and only a short drive to many nice pubs, restaurants and visitor attractions, and so much to do and see. We will definitely be back!
