Apartment Jasmina Sarajevo

Very spacious and comfortable. Washing machine was a great bonus. Very short walk into the city and close to all museums/other points of interest

This was such a lovely apartment to stay in. The host family are kind and welcoming, and the apartment is spacious, comfortable and close to the city centre, whilst also being on a very quiet street.

I had never stayed at Apartment Jasmina before on my trips to Sarajevo and I enjoyed it very much; I would most definitely stay again. The hosts are Elma and Abdullah and they are both terrific. Elma met me at the downstairs street door and showed me around the apartment. When I asked her if she could show me how to work the European washing machine (you know how they have no words on the dial settings, just those inscrutable symbols) she did show me but then said she could just come back upstairs when I had my clothes ready and help me get it all washed herself [their apt is below on the ground floor]. I found this to be super generous of her, and she remained that helpful throughout my stay. One evening I arrived back at the street door simultaneously to their arrival, and we all greeted each other, and Elma said "what's the matter, you sound sick?", and I was surprised because I actually did have a little cold, and she said "I'll get you something" and disappeared into their apt before I could say "no, you don't have to bother..." [in the United States we always deny we need help even when we do]; in a flash she returned with a Bosnian cold remedy that I wouldn't have been able to find on my own at the store, and gave it to me along with instructions on how to take it - this was wonderful. One night I saw them through the windows of a coffeeshop along the pedestrian mall and they both gave me a big smile and wave. Good stuff. The apartment was really top-notch regarding everything, and has a very peaceful balcony on an inner courtyard. I slept very well, and the kitchen is large as is the dining area. Payment is in cash only which is not odd at all in Bosnia (or in Eastern Europe as a whole) and should not cause any concern to anyone; it's better that a young couple saving to start a family not have to pay the megabanks and credit card companies a percentage of their well-earned supplemental income.

There was nothing that wasn't terrific :)
