"Overall a beautiful Villa and great location."

We recently stayed at the Castelu. It’s a lovely villa, close to restaurants and a short walk to the markets. We really enjoyed our stay until the very end.

The day before checkout, we received a message advising a towel had been stained due to direct contact with “sunscreen”. We were going to just pay for the towel, then we were advised it was 3 x bath towels and a hand towel. We knew very well that we did not damage anything including 4 bath towels. After some stressful back and forth messages, knowing we wouldn’t have used bath towels directly after applying sunscreen, we were advised they were damaged during the washing process. It was a stressful and unfortunate way to end our last night in the villa. Lastly, the checkout process involved multiple staff coming into the villa to inspect and ensure all items were accounted for. They counted cutlery in the kitchen and inspected each rooms all while we packed the last of our things. We understand the need for this for a villa when no bond is collected but after the previous interactions regarding the towels we felt a little defeated and like wrongdoers.

"Superb"

The villa is located in a quiet but convenient area, and it was perfect for us. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are as well. The pool and garden are amazing with an open kitchen and living space. You can close the open space with bamboo curtains against the sun and rain. For breakfast, there is an amazing spot around the corner called Souma, which is only a 5 min walk from the villa. Def recommend it!
