Viviana, the host, was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the size of the apartment - both bedrooms were large and had en suite bathrooms. Everything was very clean and there was a good selection of amenities. We were able to park our car on the premises.

There was a lot of traffic noise.

Host was SO incredibly rude, from the get go she yelled at us and would not let us explain our situation or apologize (we were running only an hour later than we specified for check in due to a flight delay, and I had updated our arrival time on booking.com but hadn’t messaged her directly as we were rushing through the airports). We felt like we were in school, getting treated like absolute sh*t by a teacher, as opposed to PAYING CLIENTS of accommodation. She also made us check out at 10am (even though booking.com specifies 11am) which is illegal to do in Italy, but we were too afraid we would get yelled at again if we said anything. Showers were clogged and didn’t drain, the apartment was full of mosquitos even though all windows were closed, it was EXTREMELY noisy from traffic right on main road which resulted in interrupted sleep, and location was a 30 min walk from almost everything.

The apartment inside is beautiful updated with modern touches. The two bedrooms were appointed equally so this is great when traveling with other couples as one does not feel they get the short stick.

The building itself from the outside needs a facelift. The painting and fallen debris everywhere made it look run down and not the best first impression. A simple leaf blower and a little landscaping detail Would have elevated this very easily. The interior windows were the only feature of the apartment that were not updated and I’m surprised because you can tell they spent a lot of money updated but neglected a very important part, the windows. The windows are original to the building and they allow noise transfer as though the windows were left wide open. Because it’s located in the city, the constant sounds of sirens, motorcycles racing and other vehicles passing made it nearly impossible to sleep soundly. They also do not provide screens on the windows so during the day to help conserve on the air conditioning we opened the opens to have fresh breeze but found almost instantly the apartment filled with bugs (like little flies) they came in groups and it was a challenge to get them all out or sadly killed. The property manager is also very rigid in her demeanor. We asked for extra towels during our stay as we were four people and stayed three nights and we each received one bath towel and one face towel. Now normally I would just wash my towel to enjoy a fresh one during my three day stay but she did not provide laundry soap for us and said we would need to buy that or be charged another towel set up fee of five Euros. We choose to go to the grocery store and buy the soap ourselves of which is not a short distance away. We drove over there instead. Now I imagine a lot of guests are not coming in with a vehicle, so that is something to keep in mind. The check in time of 4pm was also a tuff one for us. It’s pretty late to begin with, but I understand that it’s in their playbook to determine these things.

The Villa was spacious modern and very clean.

Location was too far from centre. Not a very pleasant area. Had to walk for nearly half an hour to anywhere as we had no car through littered streets. Hostess took 200 euros deposit and only told us on that day. Had to ask for toilet rolls. Not even a hand-wash there. We had to buy ear plugs as the noise from traffic at night was crazy. Beautiful accommodation in wrong location..

The apartment is decorated in a very good style. There is a lot of common space in the living room with kitchenette. The kitchen has all the appliances and accessories available if someone needs to cook a meal. Each room has its own bathroom, which is also a great convenience, especially when traveling with several people. The apartment has an internal parking lot, which is also a great convenience. Very good contact with the owner, who offers help and tips on interesting places in Syracuse.

Apartment has thin older type windows that let the noise through. For very sensitive people, this may be a bit of a hassle, although the property is not in a very busy area.

We were met and walked through the property, parking was fantastic. Right on the property and free. Had a great information message on the area, supermarkets, restaurants etc. one bedside lamp had blown a bulb and this was rectified, also a second set of keys was delivered within a couple of hours. A bottle of water in the fridge and some coffee capsules for the start of our stay. The walk into the city and to Ortigia took about twenty minutes.

Renovations to the roof meant an early start 7am (workmen) but it was only for one morning out of the two we stayed. Do not park under the tree in the courtyard as you will find the birds like to do their droppings.
