Casa Abela New

The apartment was beautiful, much bigger than we expected, with a generous terrace. It is located in an area that is outside of Syracuse, but it was really just a few minutes drive from the city. Very quiet and peaceful location, true relief from the urban buzz. Really loved our stay here.

To be honest, the only downside was the very tiny shower, we are all tall people and it was a bit of a struggle at times. Also kitchen detergent was missing, so it was down to hot water washing only. No other issues otherwise.

For such a big house the bathroom is a bit small. No hangers for towels in the bathroom.

The apartment is very spacious in a very quiet location with a view of an orange grove. The house is older, the arrival may look strange, but don't worry, the apartment is clean and comfortable and it was paradise for us. There is plenty of parking space. And best of all was the spacious terrace where we spent most of our time. The host was great at communicating, he fixed the water issue right away and the touches like coffee, tea, toast, nutella, marmalade and a bottle of water in the fridge were amazing. I can definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to relax after a busy day, whether you are working or traveling.

Narrow shower but I understand it's the original bathroom and nothing can be done about it.

The rooms were huge! 2 bedrooms a fully equipped kitchen, dining & living room. Very quiet located just 10 minutes from downtown in an orange grove. It was a perfect stay.

No one spoke English and there were no instructions on how to get the keys or operate the appliances. It would have been nice to have an English translation of how to get the keys, etc but I figured it out eventually. They also need a new sign at the end of the driveway. It was very difficult to locate even with Apple Maps and Google maps.

It was calm, quiet, cozy, spacious. Close to beautiful beaches and incredibly beautiful Ortigia

Maybe a shower..would like it to be more spacious but we understand that it is not easy to change it in an old house, so we treat it with understanding.

A lovely, very large and well-equipped apartment with everything we needed, two terraces and in a quiet location just a few kilometers outside of Syracuse with easy car parking - a perfect base for exploring Syracuse and this region of south-east Sicily. Our thanks to Luciano who gave us some great tips which helped make our stay a great end to our ten day tour of eastern Sicily.

If arriving by car and one is new to the area, there is a very narrow farm driveway that leads to the yard and apartment. It is not difficult to find although a paint touch up on the wall with the name and address would make it even easier, especially at night.
