Lovely bright flat in an excellent central location close to Sorrento Station for trains/buses, and the old town. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of towels. Power shower, air con, shutters which you could close/open automatically. Little kitchenette to do cooking if required. Supermarket close by. Fulvio was a very friendly host, and readily available for help, with good tips on the town. The train service is good and serves the major archaeological sites towards Naples, and is very cheap. Buy tickets at the station office, or machine if they are closed. The tickets need to be validated prior to boarding via a machine/gate. Tip...to avoid queueing for return tickets coming back, buy them on the outward journey and validate them when required coming back. We are planning to return to Pompeii within the next year. You really do need at least 2 days to fully digest the whole site, so we went for the My Pompeii Card which you apply for online and collect at Pompeii ticket office. Its 38 euros and valid for a year. You get access to the whole Pompeii site, plus other villas such as Oplontis, Stabia, Villa dei Misteri. Sadly the card does cover the,Naples Archaeological Museum , which is fantastic and a must after Pompeii or Herculaneum (Train stop: Ercolano Scavi) which is wonderful, more intimate than Pompeii. Aplontis (train stop: Torre Annunciata) is a little gem and virtually deserted when we went. There is an express train service aimed at tourists which runs a few times a day (Campagna Express) but is much more expensive at 15 euros a ticket and you need to book online...they don't sell tickets at the stations.

A sharp knife would be handy for cutting bread/vegetables though local shops sell them v cheaply. Also a drying cloth (again we bought one v cheaply in the town for 2 euros). Watch out for pick pockets on the trains and around the major tourist sites. They are notorious so be very watchful as they are obvious when you 'get your eye in'. Wear trousers/shorts with zippered/buttoned pockets and only keep loose change in them. Keep bags close e.g. backpacks close to the chest whilst travelling. As long as you remain aware you'll be fine. The Circumvesuviana does have sudden strikes (it happened to us on Day 2) so look out for notices at the stations. If travelling from Sorrento to Ercolano for Herculaneum be aware that after the 07.38 train, the trains after don't stop at Ercolano (apart from the more expensive express services) so you'll need to change at Torre Annunciata.

Cleanliness and location

Fulvio was really nice and accomodating. The apartment was lovely and we really loved our stay there. Would definitely stay there again if we had the opportunity. Fulvio gave us recommendations and the property is in a great spot close to everything.

Todo perfecto! Excelente atención de Francesco, quien nos permitió dejar el equipaje por la mañana para luego ingresar más tarde ya que lo estaban limpiando, pese a que lo reservamos la noche anterior. El departamento es hermoso, todo diseñado a la perfección y muy bien equipado. 100% Recomendado!
