Taonasi Mazzarò Apartments

Sehr schönes Appartement mit 2 Terrassen, wunderbarer Blick auf Meer und Stadt, Ausstattung mit Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Toaster, Geschirr, 2 Gehminuten von der Gondelbahn entfernt (nach Taormina), gute Restaurants und Bars in unmittelbarer Umgebung, unser Gastgeber Riccardo hatte viele gute Tipps bereits vor der Anreise geschickt und war während des Aufenthalts sehr gut erreichbar und hilfreich. Parkmöglichkeit leider sehr eingeschränkt, jedoch um € 25,-- pro Tag vis a vis des Hotels in Hotel Esperia buchbar. Appartment lag im 3. Stock ohne Lift.

Meckern auf hohem Niveau - aber das Bett ist nur 160 cm breit - könnte für 2 Personen breiter sein, auf den Sonnenbetten gab es keine Auflagen. Dies sind Verbesserungsvorschläge, sonst waren wir sehr zufrieden!

We loved the 2 balconies - one with sun and view of the sea morning and other with sun and view of mountain evening. The apartment provided everything we needed for an enjoyable week. Sandy and Riccardo were most helpful. The location was perfect - a short walk to the cablecar, which brings you up to Taormina and a great choice of restaurants in 3 mins. Plenty of beaches and beach clubs within walking distance of the apartment, via lots of steps, which didn’t bother us. Several very good restaurants also within walking distance.

Nothing we didn’t like

Great location, beautiful views. Didn’t want it to end! Property was spotless and more spacious than I realised. The property had everything we needed, including beach towels, hair dryer and iron. 3 minute walk to a great beach with brilliant amenities. Lovely restaurants nearby. The two mini markets a few doors down were perfect. One of them made up fresh rolls with lovely crusty bread, fresh watermelon and other fruits, great for taking to the beach. Peaceful at night around the property. A couple of minutes to the cable car. When going up to the town part of Taormina, to keep our family of 4 costs down, we caught the cable car up and walked back down. The cable car is pricey for 4. The walk back down took about 20 mins but all down hill and well lit at night. Plenty of beds to hire at the beaches. A few minutes walk to Isola Bella beach. If spending the day at Isola Bella, if you go to the Pizzichella restaurant on the beach, they do the cheapest beds at €30 for two with umbrella. The other beaches were €50 for two with umbrella. Nice place to eat too. We got the train to Catania (1hr) one day to visit the street food markets (you can also catch busses to Catania which take 1hr 20) and from there went by train to Syracuse (2hr 15). Amazing!! Busses can be a bit unreliable (late), so factor that in to your plans. The owner Riccardo was very helpful and on hand if needed. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, location is very convenient, host is available 24/7. Everything is perfect!

Tres bien situé et tres calme

Located below Taormina near the beach and restaurants with quick access to the gondola ride to/from town. This 2 bdrm 2 bath apartment was modern and very spacious with a wraparound balcony overlooking the marina and sea accessible from every room. Riccardo the manager with super responsive and offered advice as needed, and allowed us to store our bags after checkout. Free street parking is possible nearby but if not, the hotel across the street offers pay parking.

Nothing major wrong here. Could use more seating in the living area. Note that this apartment is on the 3rd floor with lots of steps to climb, but the staircase is wide, modern, well lit. Note also that the location is on a busy road without sidewalks (like much of Sicily).

Best location in Taormina - wonderful view of two different bays and very close to shops, restaurants, the beach and the funicular yet still a very peaceful spot. So easy to get to the old town via funicular. Very comfortable apartment and Ricardo was extremely helpful and friendly. Thanks Ricardo! We will be back and recommend to anyone going to Taormina.

The stairs, we knew about but we're hard for me due to a injury
