Il Borgo Antico Sorrento Sea View

The location is just stunning and the apartment was perfect for our family of 4. Our host, was so helpful with booking taxi's, recommendations for activities, local restaurants, etc. There were goodies (pastries, candies, limoncello, etc) waiting for us upon arrival, and the apartment is just an about 15 minute walk into the center of Sorrento. We were more than happy to be at the Marina with the beautiful views of Vesuvius and away from the summer crowds.

Stairs, so many stairs, but very typical of apartments in Italy. Pack light.

Marvellous location overlooking Marina Grande. Steps away from free beach and restaurants. Very clean and spacious home. Hostess Elisabetta was exceptionally helpful. We loved waking up to the ocean view and enjoying afternoon swims followed by lazing on the balcony. Perfect 👌

A note for those who don’t like walking or have mobility issues. Home is on the top floor with no lift. Marina grande is about a 15 min walk from the centre of town. We loved this as it meant we could escape the crowds

The apartment is in a fantastic location right on the Grande Marina. The outlook to the water and fishing boats is lovely. Elizabeth met us when we arrived and showed us the apartment and was always very responsive to any queries, a really great host. She even left some Limoncella, wine and a few snacks for our arrival which was a lovely surprise. Two single beds were perfect for the kids (rather than having to share), the air conditioning was in all rooms and the kitchen was well equipped.

The shower is slightly tricky and needs to be magnetically locked or water will leak out!! Fine once you know how!

Our hostess, Elizabetta, was one of the best hostess I have ever encountered. She arranged the taxi ride shortly after I booked the "apartment." She met us at the taxi immediately upon arriving and walked us to the apartment and showed us around the town along the way. She also gave us many recommendations of things to do and restaurants to go to. She booked two tours for us and to our surprise we received a reduction in price by booking through her. Both tours were exceptional. She checked in with us numerous times to see if we needed anything. Elizabetta is one of the kindest people on this earth. We felt cared for. And we could tell she takes a lot of pride in her apartment. It was spotless and well-appointed. She even had quite a few treats for us upon arrival (pastries, a bottle of bubbly wine, local limoncello, candies and cold water in the fridge.) The location was great and the view was stunning.

There is nothing we didn't like about our experience staying at the Il Borgo Antico.

Beautiful property in a great location with all items needed to have an enjoyable stay. Host was very kind and easy to contact.

A few minor issues including the following: some of the frying pans were in poor shape; there was no shelf or rack in shower to place items on requiring repeated bending over to pick up or place items in floor which was difficult given the tight space; and the window in the primary bedroom let in enough noise to cause me to wake from outside noise a few times.

The owner is charming and kind, completely focused on making sure you have a great stay. She checked in with us every day, without ever becoming intrusive. Thoughtful extras like ground coffee for the stove pot, a bottle of red wine and also of limoncello (!) and the bowl of oranges and lemons were really welcome. The rooms in the apartment are a generous size and well kitted out. The cafe table and chairs on the balcony meant we started each day watching the beach come to life while we ate breakfast. The apartment is in a great location: there are fabulous restaurants within a stone’s throw and the walk up to the centre of Sorrento isn’t the challenging climb we’d anticipated.

If I was going to be picky, the parking is tough (but our host helped us find a space when we needed it). And the shower room was great for two people but might be a bit tight with four guests.

A little hard to get from Naples to Sorrento in the off-season but the host can help you arrange a well-priced driver

You have to go through the second unit to get to the bathroom. Perfect for families but may be difficult for couples.

The size and cleanliness of the apartment, two single beds and a king size, the view from the apartment and the location. Out host Tina/Elizabetta was so friendly, professional and helpful. We arrived at the property later than expected but Elizabetta remained in touch and met with us when we arrived. The apartment is situated on Marina Grande, which is central to all the main attractions of Sorrento but a little less crowded than the main port area/square. It was lovely to walk back to the apartment knowing that you were escaping the busy, small streets. There are also some great restaurants on your doorstep (we ate at the restaurant below and would highly recommend) and you can arrange private boat tours from Marina Grande to visit the Amalfi coast.

The apartment was spotless clean and large for a family of 4 adults. Views were amazing looking over the Marina Grande and across to Mt Vesuvius. Restaurants, swimming, kayak and boat hire all below the apartment. Ten minute walk up the path to Sorrento town.
