Appartamento Helvetia

The location is superb. 50 metres from the ferry terminal. The apartment is huge, it’s air conditioned, the terrace is fabulous. Good facilities throughout, it just made the whole trip for me. Can’t fault it.

Traffic noise can be heard from about 6am onwards. It’s not a big deal, but my home is in a very quiet street so I heard it. If you’re coming from a town you’d barely notice it.

The apartment was very spacious the location was great, the view to the lake was stunning, i would say you need a car if you want to be able to visit more places if you are restricted to ferry times can be a little annoying but still doable, stayed in Dec/Jan for new years eve be mindful there is nothing open in Tremezzo itself hardly any shops and no restaurants but if you have a car this is not an issue.

Happy with everything

This apartment is all about the location! The views overlooking Bellagio and Lake Como at night were incredible, especially at sunset. Restaurants directly underneath, and ferry stop only a few minutes walk. Also it is an extremely spacious apartment with its own separate laundry, a big plus for us. Our host was so lovely too. We were running late and she stayed back to meet us.

Furnishings were a little dated. Car parking a bit challenging, but we were aware in advance and parked further up the road.

Clean, Spacious, larger bathroom than normal, Views. Restaurant downstairs.

Location to local amenities. Very helpful and welcoming hosts. Fantastic views.

Expect road noise but closing shutters made a difference.

The views from the balcony were amazing, it was such a great entertaining space! So spacious and super affordable considering the location! Also the housekeeping restaurant downstairs, Bar Helvetia, was amazing loved the meals there and was bonus that we only had to walk downstairs for dinner! Highly, highly recommend!

The lake view, ferries near the flat and owners very very kind ! The flat is big enough for a family and nice balcony is a good point.

Not for you if you are a light sleeper ! Very very noisy 'cause of the road just in front of the flat. Some creepy crawlers in the apartment.

Excellent location with as good a view of one of the prettiest parts of the lake as there is and close to the steamer berth and Villa Carlotta. The large balcony, with electrically operated sun awning and table and chairs, is perfect for relaxing with a drink while enjoying the lake, mountains views and the activities in the street and on the lake. The apartment is an old building with tiled and stone sett floors and shuttered windows but is well appointed.

The car parking was difficult because it is metered and restricted to 2 hours maximum between 9am and 7pm. At present there is free parking about a km along the road (possibly because the Grand Hotel Cadenabbia is undergoing renovation). Spaces only become available fairly infrequently. Tremezzo is a bustling place with restaurants, a few shops, lake steamer service (now diesel engined) boat hire, bus service etc. The main road runs between the apartment and the lake and consequently there is a lot of noise that goes on through the night. Some might find this disturbing but it is an inevitable part of the location and we found it quite acceptable.
