The room is beautiful and the terrace is lovely with great views if you walk around and across the road.

A warning to anyone coming to this property. If you have a car, the access through the city walls is EXTREMELY narrow. It would not be possible for e.g. a VW Touareg to fit through. We just about scraped through with our small hire car. The owners should provide dimensions, as if you arrive in the early evening as we did, it is extremely stressful trying to navigate the walls and tiny streets. The only info the hosts give is 'we are in the old part of town, drive through the castle walls'. This is utterly useless if your car won;t fit through so this needs to be added to the property information, plus alternatives of where to park - all options would be a long walk. Second, there are no bars and no feasible restaurants. So you need to eat BEFORE arriving or bring food and drink with you. The suggestions the hosts made were a restaurant at the castle - it charges 40-85 euros a head, is very snooty and not at all the type of place that suited us or our budget. I suspect others staying at Villa Anna might be of a similar view, as if they wanted expensive and sterlie, they would have booked to stay at the castle hotel. The second option was another hotel a few miles away which we drove to but was also very posh and we could only find access to the pool, not the restaurant. The third option was 'someone who will give you a slice of cheese and ham' who was located at a small museum which was marked as closed on google maps. The whole town was dead. No bars, no life. Lovely if you want complte solitude but I think the hosts should warn about this. We ended up buying crisps and cans at a garage and driving 12km to find somewhere to eat.
