Kidoni cottage

The host contacted us proactively and provided guidance on how to find the place, where to park, etc. When we arrived, the Kidoni cottage house was perfectly cleaned. The living room with kitchen is spacious and very well-equipped, including spices, plenty of water, and some extra goods like spices and local products. There are two bathrooms which is very convenient. The terrace has a great view of the mountain. Very quiet and calm place to stay, just two minutes from the village square. I always managed to find a parking space on the parking.

There is very little to share here. The smallest bathroom is really small and may be inconvenient for more prominent people. Cleaning is not included and requires additional arrangements with the host (on the positive side, additional cleaning was impeccable). The terrace may be windy in the early evening. Finding a free parking space may require some patience (but I have never struggled to find a space). The streets of the village are narrow; it may be challenging for more inexperienced drivers.

Very tastefully refurbished, Mary has a keen eye for detail and is a lovely host. She offered to help even before our holiday started. Upon our arrival, we found local specialities in our fridge. Many thanks for Mary's help to rent a boat - everything was more than perfect

Kidoni Cottage is located in the tiny town Doukades not far away from nice beaches - there is a local atmosphere and good restaurants, a small food store and a parking area. Kidoni Cottage is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The hosts are very helpful to make sure that you have a wonderful stay.

The property had everything we needed and was so pretty and spacious inside. Mary had left a fridge with food for us for the week including figs from her own tree and food for sandwiches! The views from the balcony were amazing and the neighbourhood felt very safe and welcoming. We met Mary and some of her family during our stay and they were some of the nicest people we met during our trip! Communication was great as we had some delays with our rental car but Mary ensured someone would be able to help us check in, find a car park, etc making everything so much smoother. Mary also gave us food recommendations and even let us stay past check out on the last day as no one was staying after us - this made our day a lot less stressful and gave us more time to enjoy the property. This was one of the highlights of our trip and we would definitely stay here again!

Apartment: Kidoni Cottage is one of the best places I've ever stayed at during my holidays, and likely one of the best places to stay when visiting Corfu. The apartment is super spacious and consists of a large living room combined with a fully-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, two large bedrooms, and a terrace/balcony. The kitchen equipment includes a refrigerator, coffee machine, cutlery, plates, etc., so you have everything that might be needed to prepare your meals. Both bathrooms have showers, toilets, and sinks, and there is a washing machine in one of them as well, which was a really useful addition. The bedrooms are perfect with comfortable beds and air conditioners, making the temperature much more bearable during hot summer days and nights. One of the bedrooms has a mezzanine with one more large bed that can fit two more people if needed. The storage spaces included in the bedrooms could be a bit more, but it's a minor issue. The terrace is just great. It is large enough to hang your laundry, and has a table and chairs, and you can comfortably eat all your meals there. The view is another amazing thing about this place. When sitting on a terrace or looking through the windows, you can see these amazing hills overgrown with plants, trees, bushes, etc. Otherwise, the place was extremely clean, fully air-conditioned, and I can thoroughly recommend it. Location: At first, we weren't so sure about selecting a location in Doukades - a little village, which did not seem to be very tourist at first. Yet, I'm glad we ended up there. The village is located just a few minutes drive from Paleokastritsa, which is one of the most stunning places on the entire island, but Doukades is also nicely communicated with other amazing places over the island. Other than that, there are a few great restaurants in the village itself, all of them serving delicious Greek food at reasonable prices.

Words can’t do justice to the cottage, you have to see it in person to realise just how gorgeous it is! We were on a high from the moment we got there, to the moment we left, we wished we could have stayed longer. The hosts were so generous and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, without being overbearing at all. I was worried before we came that the area would be very small but the little village was adorable and the local tavernas (there are four) are all stunning and the food was perfect. The local Mini Mart also has welcoming staff and some fresh baking and traditional Greek coffee to enjoy in the mornings. We rented a scooter (with help from Mary and Thanasis) and we drove to different beaches every day, Agia Triada Beach was the closest we found and you could use the loungers for free if you bought a drink in the Akron Beach Bar. We also visited Malibu Summer Beach Club in Dassia for the day and enjoyed some higher end treatment (a bit more expensive but worth it if you want to spend the day there chilling with nice cocktails and enjoy a burger by the beach). This holiday was so special and one me and my partner will never forget, we hope to return again! Don’t miss out on this place!

Not one bad thing to say.

The house is stunning, a new renovation of an old stone house, very chic and cozy, with a nice terrace with an exceptional view, as also seen from the bedrooms. We arrived tired in the evening, after a long trip and we found some food and fruit in the fridge, water and a bottle of wine, which made our day, since we didn’t need to go shopping and had something to eat for the next morning. It was a nice touch and very much appreciated. 🥂 The house is very well equipped, with quality finishes and appliances, 2 bathrooms and 3 beds can easily accommodate a family of 5 or two couples. Centrally located, 2 min walk from taverns and bars, it’s the best choice in the area, by far. However, the best part of our stay was definitely Mary, the host, which went out of her way to help us have a great vacation. We loved her recommendations of places to visit and to eat and was always willing to help in any way she could. Totally recommend this place!!
