Excellent host was great with check in and check out! Apartment was clean and fresh :) great stay, Thankyou!

Bed was quite squeaky, however apart from that couldn’t complain about anything.

the house was clean, well equipped, and getting in on arrival was easy. great communication with the owner , who was really helpful.

We liked the beautiful view from the living room window, and the lift offered by the host when she spotted us at arrival. To get uphill with the suitcases is virtually impossible.

Very steep uphill to access property. If you travel by public transport, we recommend you book a taxi by calling 01389 757 171. Also the only dining areas are the bar in the small kitchen and the out-door table in the back garden.

The view was lovely and the house was clean.

We stayed at the Dumbarton House with a view for four days. Let me start with: the property is good value for money. That means: we did get a basic apartment, but we didn't pay a lot for it. So it depends on your expectations! The house has plenty of space, the communication was very friendly and the hostess (with whom we only spoke through messaging) seemed very friendly and helpful. The view from the house was really good as well. From the location you can get to the city quite easy, e.g. we took the train to Glasgow from here. There is a washing machine, tv and plenty of facilities nearby. There is a small garden included which, with good weather, is really nice. Including garden chairs, etc. The kitchen was OK, the house was clean!

For us, this property doesn't live up to the average rating of (currently) 8,7. Yes, as I said, it is good value for money. But the house itself was a little more basic than expected: the interior is quite minimalistic (one couch, no chairs or table). We choose not to eat on the bar-ish stools in the kitchen, because we didn't fancy looking at a wall. The house has the essentials you need, but nothing more. As examples: Cutlery was limited (3 knives), no salad bowl, small pans, etc. We didn't quite like the shower: you have to shower in the bath, waterpower was not good during our stay. Overall: a sufficient stay and house, but could be better with a few tweaks.

Very clean and comfortable house. The kitchen was equipped with all things needed to make a meal. Wonderful view of the Dumbarton Castle. Very comfortable.

location was great for us as a base to explore from...the view is to die for...very quiet area.lots of shops/takeaways in local area.

can't find anything to complain about.
