A Suite Alaskan Inn

The hosts were very friendly and provided an exceptional assortment of breakfast foods and snacks.

Sofa bed was fine to sleep on, but space was tight for 4. Neighborhood was ok, but had off-street parking.

Lovely hospitable hosts. The apartment is super well equipped. Snacks and breakfast food provided. Perfect for our brief overnight

Sehr gute Lage und freundliche Gastgeber. Es gab ein bereits vorbereitetes und abwechslungsreiches Frühstück. Die Unterkunft war sehr geräumig und hatte eine funktionierende Küche mit einem großen Kühlschrank. Es gab einen Parkplatz vor dem Haus. Die Gastgeber haben Materialien über Fairbanks und Aktivitäten vorbereitet. Die Unterkunft ist sehr angenehm und wohnlich.

Es war im Keller und daher wenig Sonnenlicht, aber es gab zwei Fenster, eines im Wohnzimmer eines im Schlafzimmer.

The location was fabulous. Easy walking to a great part of Fairbanks and very close to the airport. Perfect for a one night stay. The hosts are super friendly

It was very difficult to find on a dark rainy night. There were no lights on the outside so we had to use our phone flashlight to both find the place and be able to see the door code

We had a great little, fully operational self-contained apartment that was in the upper area of the host's residence. It was well stocked even down to washing powder for the washer/dryer combo, pots and pans, cooking utensils and breakfast foods. We stayed in quite a few inns / hotels etc. during our driving trip in Alaska and this was by far the best both in terms of amenities and value. It is well located in terms of getting around the city but is in a bit of the older part itself.

The inn has 3 suites (bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/living room in mine). Others may be a bedroom bigger.. My suite was completely livable on a long term basis. It had every thing you would need for house keeping and the hosts were delightfully helpful and welcoming. It was 2 blocks of the main street (Cushman) and 11 blocks to the downtown area. About 5 blocks to the central bus depot and seniors get free transportation anywhere in town. Taxis were readily available and appropriately priced. The tourist center downtown is a tourist destination all by itself. Amazingly friendly people here in Fairbanks. Don't miss the "Jazz Bistro" on 4th street. An easy walk from the inn. Who knew, a superb Cuban restaurant in Alaska. In business for more that 11 years and an obvious favorite of locals. This is a real city. You can find all kinds of clothes and other standard items. But 2nd street downtown has awesome souvenir shops. Furs, carved ivory, jade jewelry and native art abound as well as apparel suitable for an outback adventure. And I am not talking about junk, some of the items were $10,000 or more and worth it.

The weather. Be prepared to be cold and wet. This is a gateway to central Alaska but the local area is metropolitan not rural. Travel is essential to see wildlife and experience wild Alaskan wilderness.
