Mas du Notaire

The location of the property was quiet and nicely shady with lots of outdoor seating areas. The gite was very well equipped and clean despite being 'rustic' with flagged floors and stone staircase.. Beds were comfortable and showers easy to use. All rooms were large and cool and the air conditioning was efficient. The excellent bottle of wine given to us on arrival was an added bonus!

The lighting was rather dim for the size of the rooms - perhaps some brighter bulbs would be helpful.

Everything was great, but if one thing could make the experience even better: a door between the bathroom and the bedroom

Very friendly staff ! Very kind and responsive. The bedroom was big and heated when we arrived, very clean. The garden is very peaceful:)

Note enough time to enjoy all the area has to offer.

Charming place and great location next to a bakery (1min walk) and the free Scamandre natural reserve (5min by car). We also went to the Guinguette in Franquevaux where we did horse riding too (10min by car). Basic 2 bedrooms flat in a lovely building.

It would be nice to have an hairdryer and some ameneties.

Authentic. Comfortable bed. Close to the Camargue.

Television just adequate Bathroom not comfortable no where to put things.

Everything was wonderful! The rustic cottage at Mas Du Notaire was just what we wanted! And the welcoming bottle of red wine from the estate was welcome.

We booked Mas du Notare for a week, to have a nice and relaxing start in our summer vacation at the Camargue region with our two kids. The property itself looked nice. However, when we booked, we didn’t know that air conditioning has to be specified as equipment in the description. We thought, an old building is cool enough, but it was a huge mistake. The sun was heating up the rooms all day long, and it didn’t sufficiently cool down at nights. That said: it got so hot in there that we were not able to stand it. Our kids really suffered, and it was everything but a nice vacation and a nice time to spend there. We were really concerned about the wellbeing of our kids (and ourselves). Outside it was easily 30 degrees Celsius plus but more pleasant than inside. Cooking was hardly possible, cause the gas flames heated up additionally. Therefore, we ended our stay prematurely. But before that, we tried to talk with Mas du Notaire to find a solution both could live with (compensation for the remaining days), but they insisted, that an air conditioning is not mentioned in the description. We were told that there was nothing that could be done for us because we already paid (indeed that was the first thing we had to do - to pay for our stay even before the apartment was introduced to us). To be fair, the property owner gave us two additional ventilators as we asked for it, but it was no help at all. There was one apartment with air conditioning (for staff) which they showed to us, but it was one bed only. We returned the keys and simply left. We had to find an alternative with the help of the local tourist information. We found one- also without air conditioning, but much cooler inside. The kids’ outdoor play equipment was very basic and appeared not well maintained. Also, it was completely exposed to the sun during the day. The beach is 30 minutes drive by car away, for instance, at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. It looks close when looking at the map, but it’s quite a ride.
