Stylish 2 Bedroom Flat - Close To Newcastle City Centre

I really liked the location of the flat. Loved the space and amenities.

Very roomy, bright, really nice decor, very quiet street. Flat was well-equipped. Constant hot water a bonus, could have bath or shower anytime.

Bathroom needs a bit of tlc for walls and door, not a problem . I would suggest putting a stairgate on the steep stair , easy to take the wrong turn through the night from the bedroom if going to the toilet!

Nothing major, but some bulbs needing replacing when we arrived and the boiler had failed, but was sorted out within 3 days. I would have expected these things to be checked prior to arriving but it wasn’t a massive issue!

Check in was easy. We arrived in the evening to find that the bathroom light didn't work at all so couldn't have a shower that night, however we contacted the host about this and he answered straight away and sent someone round to change the bulbs the next morning, so we were happy with the communication from the host. Parking was available, the heating was easy to use, the bed was comfortable, the bedding and towels were clean and there was lots of storage space throughout the apartment. The location is good, it's a nice area and lots of pubs/restaurants around, we had a car so it took us about 10 minutes to

The cleanliness of the apartment was dissapointing. The carpet as you walk in was very grubby, the whole place had a stale smell to it and the bathroom smelt strongly of damp. The floor in the dining area was very sticky so much that your shoes would stick to it, there were bits of food under the sofa and on the floor in the front bedroom and the toaster was coated in dust. There were hairs in the bath and the plug was very dirty, not sure if the bath had been cleaned at all. The only frying pan was coated in grease so this had to be washed before using. From the level of cleanliness I highly doubt the apartment was hoovered or mopped or given a good wipe over, it seemed like the beds and towels were changed and that was as far as the cleaning went, which is pretty bad for a £50 cleaning fee. The facilites were mainly good, but the shower screen did have a hole in the corner so everytime you took a shower water would just leak onto the floor (maybe thats what was causing the damp smell). The sofa was extremely hard and uncomfortable but maybe thats just personal preference, not alot can be done about that.
