The Het Dakhuis is AMAZING. Central location, spectacular views, charming and modern decor, sparkling clean, good wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen (with good knives!!!!). The stairs are more like wide ladders, and they were borderline for my mom (69 years old), but it was totally possible for her to navigate them. Also, we knew about the stairs when we booked, and we thought they added to the charm (it felt like we were living inside a windmill, in a good way!). We just left all our luggage on the entry level and only brought up things we absolutely needed in the kitchen or bedroom levels. We cooked dinner of local fish and veggies from the market happening the afternoon we arrived, and Anita left champagne for us which was a perfect match and a lovely gesture. And, she helped me figure out the paid street parking situation. Also, the Netherlands seems to have more reliable access to tea without caffeine that we even do back home in the USA. We really appreciated the stash of rooibos options. The only other things: it was hot with the windows closed, and if there was AC we couldn't figure it out. But that was our problem, not the house. :) We left the windows open overnight and the breeze cooled things off. (Also, the water closet is sealed off from the rest of the kitchen/bathroom level. It was sauna in there, so we left that door open most of the time.)
