Rooftop Penthouse Karlsruhe

There was no lift and we had to climb around 100 stairs. 2 or three of the "beds" where couches turned into beds and were really uncomfortable.

6 flights of stairs and no lift - this was not made clear to us when booking. Not great for children or the elderly. Beds were uncomfortable with no privacy. Very hot inside apartment with no air conditioning. Pressurised to state the EXACT time of arrival with no deviations as “they have lives too”. Upon checking out people turned up before our checkout time wanting to look around, while we were getting dressed. Absolutely shocking! Unsavoury area with drug deals happening in the street

The apartment was really beautiful and the key pick up was simple. It was walking distance to the Christmas markets and Schloss Karlsruhe. We would stay there again.

It would have been nice to know that all the bedrooms are connected (no doors) but otherwise no problems.

The location was brilliant as it was so central to everything. The outside rooftop was lovely. The kitchen facilities were spotless and in great working order. Overall, cleanliness was very good.

First impressions after reaching the top were not great. We were greeted with over 50 pairs of untidy pairs trainers and shoes outside the apartment entrance. I know it was advertised as a penthouse rooftop apartment without a lift, but over 100 steps with luggage is not ideal for anyone with or without any type disabilities. Having to bring shopping up and down, etc. It's not ideal. Only one set of keys. Being an open-plan apartment, there was no privacy. There are no doors on sleeping rooms. Only 1 shower was not ideal. There are lots of little steps within the apartment. There is no handrail on stairs going to the main level of the apartment .

The location was excellent. The host left lots of helpful information as to where to find places to eat, buy food etc. Property was very quirky. 🙂

The outside space a little tired, dead plants in planters perhaps just fill these with decorative stones etc if plants not able to be watered etc. Other than that, the place was lovely.
