Apartmenthaus Simmer

It is very difficult to say what my partner and I liked the most. The location of the apartment is very good, away from Hallstat, but close to Dachstein Krippenstein, where you have access to the cable car to the mountains. However, you can get a bus from Obertraun straight to Hallstat, it is not that difficult, but it is always good to keep an eye in the timetable, because the buses pass each one hour. The accomodation was perfectly clean, the apartment is really comfortable to two people. Due to the kitchenware available, we could cook our own dinner. There are dishwahser, microwave, electric stove and plenty of plates, cups and dishes. You should consider cooking because Obertraun has only one restaurant, a pizzaria, close to the accomodation. Finally, Heidi and Hubert were impeccable hosts, always worried about giving us a lot of hospitality, definitelly trying to make us fell at home. And we really felt that!

To this day, a month or so later, we remember the beauty that Hubert and Heidi gave us. They were the best landlords. They gave us lots of travel advice and extra help. Their house is the best apartment in the world. You were able to find everything you needed in the apartment. The train station is close by. You can see the mountains every morning when you push open the door to the living room. Despite being close to a side road as well as the train station, you may feel very, very quiet. Here you can find an ice caving experience, or time for a summer swim at the lake, or perhaps a bike ride to Hallstatt and enjoy the scenery along the way. We still recall this delightful journey to this day and often consider revisiting them in the near future. Thank you Heidi and Hubert!

Very well located, comfortable and spacious. Well equipped kitchen and a perfect garden.

Good location close to the lake and easy access to Haldstaat. Clean and well equipped kitchen. Helpful hosts.

It was quite expensive and also far from everything (besides the lake itself) so it's not good as a base for exploring other places.
