Stagiates Guest House at Pelion

Όλα ήτανε τέλεια, φιλόξενοι, με ευγένεια, το δωμάτιο άψογο και καθαρό!

Ένα καταπληκτικό μέρος, με φιλικούς ευγενικούς εξυπηρετικους οικοδεσπότες, πολύ όμορφα φιλόξενα δωματιάκια και υπέροχη απέραντη θέα.... Μέσα από τα πλατάνια.... Bonus το νεράκι που τρέχει ελεύθερα στην βρύση της πλατείας...

The view from the balcony was amazing (despite the overhead wiring cutting through it). Seat cushions were provided, as well as mosquito repellent which was definitely necessary. The house, incl. the kitchen, was well-stocked. However, the fridge and stove were unusable upon arrival (see list of issues). Having two bathrooms was convenient. Beds were hard and small (esp. the single beds that reminded us of Snow White), but we liked having two separate bedrooms. GPS directions to the house from Volos have been fixed (contrary to issues reported by earlier reviewers), but the drive to the house remains very steep and dangerous (for non-locals) during inclement weather. It's a narrow one-way street to the house, which is at the end of the street. You park on the street and use the open space by the garbage dumpster to turn the car around to get back; the house has a garage but it's not accessible to guests. The street is just wide enough for a single car, no shoulder or sidewalk or room to pass or make a 3-point turn. Twice, the road was blocked by other residents or visitors on the same street. Honk and, eventually, somebody will come out to move their car; allow time to drive in/out as locals may take their sweet time. Host is a combination of daughter and dad, available by phone only, without a local helper. Daughter is very polite, but doesn't know much about the unit's operation so not very helpful despite best intent. The dad, who lives in Athens, is rude (even in Greek; our party had two Greek-Americans who did their best to speak Greek).

There was no electricity upon arrival, so the unit was hot and stuffy. Called the daughter who had her dad call us and direct us how to turn it on, which we did. A few minutes later, there was an incessant beeping coming from the kitchen. Called the dad who replied oh so politely "What do you want now?" upon picking up; the culprit was the fridge which beeps until it reaches the target temperature, which took a few hours; the host did not know how to turn off the beeping (nor did he care nor apologized... did he have to hear it? No, we did, so why would he care...). Then the stove would not turn on. Called the dad, who directed us to turn on the gas supply first, which was a gas tank inside a cupboard next to the stove (no idea whether that's OK with safety regulations in Greece; it's not for the US). The dad host made us feel an unwelcome burden to his peace and quiet, and we wasted over an hour settling in. GPS directions from the house to other villages up the mountain should be carefully checked before you start driving: they will usually direct you through footpaths which are impassable by car. Instead, head back towards Volos, and head up the mountain using the main road. Sound insulation is poor. You will hear at all hours of the night stray dogs and cats (there are many in the village), scooters without mufflers (also many) and grass trimmers at sunrise. There was a wedding in the village, and the music kept going. That's all typical of rural Greece, but a house with an expansive view also has no natural sound barriers to block the noise, so, combined with the house's poor sound insulation, it'll feel like the whole village is in your living room. Well, you won't feel lonely. Internet access is poor & unsuitable for video conferencing. FYI, we connected to the local WiFi without a password while the instructions said that a password was needed, so there may be a security issue with the WiFi.

Unul dintre cele mai bune locuri de cazare în care am stat vreodată in Grecia.. Casa este curata si bine echipata - gazda s-a gandit la tot ce este nevoie pentru un sejur fara lipsuri . Doua dormitoare + living mare , terasa mare si doua bai = confort. Terasa este punctul forte al cazarii (ne pare rau ca nu am avut un binoclu cu noi :D), oferind o priveliste foarte frumoasa asupra orasului Volos si a Golfului Pagastic ! Chiar daca drumul a fost un pic abrupt , pe noi nu ne-a deranjat - nu poti avea asemenea priveliste fara sa parcurgi drumul pana acolo :) Gazda receptiva si comunicativa . Recomand cu caldura aceasta cazare ! Multumim pentru gazduire si speram sa revenim cat mai curand !

Το σπίτι ήταν πολύ όμορφο, με πολύ εντυπωσιακή θεα και πλήρως εξοπλισμένο. Βρήκαμε ο,τι χρειαστήκαμε και ήταν πολύ περιποιημένο.

Η τοποθεσία ήταν αρκετά καλή απλώς όχι πολύ κοντά στις παραλίες που θέλαμε να επισκεφτούμε.

Beautiful house with amazing view, extremely comfortable beds, full equipments kitchen, very friendly and helpfull host We were travelling with 89 years old grandmother and it was great pleasure for all of us to stay in this charming house

Big house, great view.

There is no heating; there is air-conditioning but this is not sufficient for such a big house during the winter. Also - boiler is not really working well, so the water is not hot enough to take a shower.
