If you are doing the A2O cycle trail its a bit of a ride from the trail and then up a steep hill back onto the trail. Was worth the extra miles and hill.

Contactless accommodation arrangement, but the instructions given for access were superb. Accommodation was an exceptional one-bedroom apartment with ensuite and good-sized open plan lounge/kitchenette. It is very apparent from the outset that this apartment is indeed a “Home-Away-From-Home”, with clear indications that the owner herself uses it for this express purpose, which means it is very much like walking into another person’s home. Carpeted lounge area consisted of a table and chairs, from which one could work and enjoy home cooked meals, and/or play one of a variety of games (provided by the host). Also has a comfortable sofa, if wok/play is not on the agenda, from which to view a large television, and/or read a book (a selection of which was also available to read). Kitchen area had everything that could possibly be required, with the host also having provided a variety of coffees and nibbles for those staying. Outstanding hosting. If self-cooking is not your desire, there is a hotel next door which serves good, very large meals, at very affordable prices. Bedroom contained a large, very comfortable bed with plenty of space for placement of luggage. Ensuite was compact but well provided with shelving and contained a shower with excellent water pressure and temperature. Entire apartment was very well heated throughout, adding another level of comfort on a cold winter’s day. Very well located, for seeing many of the sights in the McKenzie Area, including the Clay Cliffs, Benmore Dam (and Lake), Gliding in Omarama (during the Summer), Aviemore Wetland Walks, to name a few. Excellent Wi-fi. Have already made it an intent to return.

Very comfortable and well equipped. We booked at short notice and the host was very helpful. Good location with convenient parking.
