Pool and Beach Residence Spalatum

Overall, the residence was good value for the number of guests it accommodates. It was spacious and the air conditioning in all rooms was a big plus. One thing we truly appreciated was how calm and safe the neighborhood felt. There were no parties or loud children/youths around during our stay, which made a huge difference. We really value peace and quiet on holiday, and this location delivered that. It was very close to Split. Also convenient to have Tommy, Studenac, Ribola, and Müller nearby.

The surrounding area felt quite dull, with not much going on. There was no cozy square or long seaside promenade to stroll along, the marina was too far, and there was no gelateria nearby—something we usually enjoy in Croatia. The restaurant selection was very limited, mostly fast-food stands, and to reach better restaurants you had to walk at least 20 minutes. The area is more suitable for guests with a car. We liked the beach nearby but a major downside was the beach situation: very few sunbeds to rent and the price was far too high (29€ for two people with parasol). Thankfully, the residence provided its own sunbeds and parasol, which we used instead and greatly appreciated. There were some maintenance and cleanliness issues: the kitchen sink faucet was leaking from different sides, and we found dust bunnies and dirty dishes when we arrived. That might have been on the previous guests though. The cleaning lady we met at checkout was very nice and friendly. Mosquitoes were a big problem, making it hard to enjoy the outdoor seating. Only one mosquito coil was provided—and no lighter or matches—so we had to buy our own spray, which we left for future guests. It would be helpful if the host provided more mosquito repellent options like sprays or plug-in devices. It was also disappointing that the pool doesn’t open until late June. We’ve never experienced such a late opening before. The listing shows photos of a pool but doesn’t clarify that it’s a shared community pool, not private. Even more confusing, this property came up after we filtered for “private pool” on Booking, which should definitely be corrected. The washing machine was a nice bonus, but providing some detergent would make it more guest-friendly. Luckily we brought a few pods with us, but most guests won’t want to buy a large detergent just for a short stay.

Very spacious apartment and good for a family with kids. Well supplied kitchen and great features like a washing machine and cot available.

There were no dishwasher tabs available - these would be good to have so we don't have to buy a full pack for a few days.
