Jungle View Guesthouse Unawatuna

We stayed in grand floor apartment which was very spacious. There is always hot water and the fans are quiet which is helpful at night. The owner rents scooters at reasonable price, so that makes it so much better as otherwise the location is not ideal.

There is a large kitchen where you could cook but there is no single piece of spice, even salt. Bathrooms have no soap at all, which is rare and feels greedy. Breakfast is very basic, not worth the price, worst we had in Sri Lanka.

This is a highly recommendable apartment with the hosts living upstairs and being very nice and proving wonderful breakfast. The location is very good, too - the bus stop just a 6 minutes walk from the apartment and the beach close by, tuktuks always available. For Jungle beach, just take a bus to bona vista stop and walk or take tuk tuk from there. The kitchen is well-equipped and there is even a washing machine we could use and hangers for drying. All in all, really perfect, very spacious and comfortable with two rooms and two bathrooms and a large living room plus kitchen.

You could ask for mosquito spray in the beginning if there are too many

The air conditioner did not work very well in one of the bedrooms so the place was very hot. There is no air conditioning in the living areas so it was very hot and stuffy.

Great property, really spacious and a good kitchen to cook simple meals. A bit far away from town but absolutely fine with a scooter, easy to access and park.

When we were checking out, tried to charge an extra 1500 rupees for paying in rupees and not USD, even though our group was European.

The hosts were very nice and helpful. They prepared breakfast for us every morning. We were on the ground floor which was very spacious.

Gigi and his family are very helpful and lovely people. They could help and give good advice in many terms. The wife even brought sri-lankan snacks from time to time. Moreover the family invited us for barbecue 2 times, which was amazing. The place is very cozy, kitchen is well equipped. We loved to sit on the terrace in the evening, listening to the jungle sounds.
