Oceans 15 - Self-service Apartments

The location is excellent. The owner, Jessica, is also very responsive to messages. For example, when I messaged her to say that the wifi wasn’t working when we arrived, she had it sorted in what seemed like about five minutes. The pool is fantastic as it was very warm when we stayed here.

The rate is simply too much for what you get. The apartment is very small, barely large enough for two people, but only if they know each other well. For some reason, the bathroom is quite large- about 60% of the size of the lounge room- and it only has a toilet and a shower plus a lot of unused space. Surely the architect who designed this place would have asked themselves ‘What if I just moved that wall just a bit to the right? How much larger would the lounge room be?’ That said, the biggest issue for us is that the kitchen sink has been removed, probably to make the counter bigger. This means that if you’re preparing food and want to wash your hands, you need to go into the laundry room and use the sink there. Want to wash your dirty dishes? Carry them into the laundry room where you’ll put them on the washing machine while you dry them. Not good enough if you’re charging people to stay here. Solutions are limited as the owner can’t redesign the place but a start would be to reinstall the kitchen sink and reduce the tariff.

Great location - Clean and tidy and very helpful hosts!

Kitchenette - not a great set up for self-catering with no sink & only a BBQ and Microwave. For a night or 2 it would be fine.

Close to town, ok veiw, spacious

The stale musty smell, old food n dirt that came from bed settee and behind it. Bedding was old and smelt. Couldn’t use bath at all. Microwave was so high couldn’t reach to use. No private pool as advertised . Sofa was so old n hard couldn’t sleep on it at all. Had to leave day early as it wasn’t pleasant

Super close to the beach and easy walk to town and restaurants etc along beachfront Whitianga is a beautiful place to visit The accomodation was lovely and clean,bonus having a washing machine and clothes horse(there is no dryer but that’s fine as you can leave the clothes horse outside near bbq area)

No sink in the kitchen you had to do dishes in a container or in the sink in the laundry,which isn’t a big deal really

When we book the apartment we did not know that we had to share apartment with someone and we got the ground floor i liked the location near beach that’s the reason we book this one another thing in the morning at 10am when we were leaving we saw someone is opening the door we thought we will leave keys with her when i was about ti enter i heard she said “bloody hell” i did not say anything bcz do not want to create a scene but i was shocked that’s how to talk when you charge so much money? Very disappointed.
