Tarragona Ciudad, El Serrallo AP-3

Very close to activities around the marina area and restaurants plus the supermarket. Raphael was a great host and provided many hints on events and locations of interest. He doesn’t speak English but provides lots of advice using WhatsApp. On the first night there was music playing for the Festival of Fishermen very late but nothing that good earplugs didn’t overcome.

The double bed is on the firm side however we would stay again.

We really liked the location of this apartment in the El Serrallo maritime district of Tarragona, with restaurants and supermarkets close by. From fishing boats to megayachts, and everything in between, there was always something new to see walking/cycling along the palm-lined promenade and 5km dock wall to the lighthouse, in the vibrant old town with remains of the Roman amphitheatre and other buildings, and the splendid view from the 'Balcony of the Mediterranean'. Excellent communications with charming host, Rafael.

Location, nice view see picture, 3rd floor with 2 balconies and close to harbour. Washing machine and dryer was good to have, kettle fridge and freezer. Nice shower. Excellent beach was about 15 minutes away to the north. Electric shutters on the property windows were good for shutting out light but not noise. Raphael apartment owner was fantastic. We watched the Castells (human towers) from just around the corner from the property which again was amazing.

Despite bed space for a family of 5 only dinner settings (bowls/plates) for 4 people. There was a concert on right outside the apartment on the first night of our stay in the square 40m away that had a band playing until 1230 then loud club music until 4am was tough and significantly disrupted our sleep for the following day. The first picture of the property from the outside should be of the apartment not the church. Towels were a little smelly.
