The Whyte House

Location to city was ideal and to arena for a music concert. Apartment was tidy and great value plus a free parking spot!

The bed was quite soft and could maybe do with a bigger one- standard double is too small especially for size of room. The cleanliness was okay, but could have been better esp shower area. Also the Water pressure was non existent- so we could really have a shower or bath as it would take ages. So that definitely needs to be addressed!

The apartment was wonderfully spacious. There was a full sized dishwasher, a decent kitchen sink, and a proper fridge-freezer and cooker. The bed was very comfortable, the heating worked well, and there was plenty of hot water and a nice shower. Lots of nice daylight especially in the morning, and good electric lights for evening use. The WiFi worked well and there were abundant power sockets. It was surprisingly quiet at night for a location close to the cathedrals, high street and lawcourts and easily walkable (without luggage) to the universities, theatres and railway station. Having on-site parking was also a big bonus. And the hosts were quick to respond helpfully to any queries.

The immediate surroundings of the building were uninviting, with litter and graffiti, and the parking garage felt a bit grim with the pedestrian exit not immediately obvious. To enter the building it was a long walk round for step-free access, or you had a flight of steps to carry the luggage up to the front door from the car. The inside of the building was miles better, so I'm glad I wasn't put off. For my taste there could have been a bit more kitchen equipment in the apartment (a colander, an additional chopping board, a bread knife and a serving/mixing bowl would have made a big difference). I'm not a coffee drinker but a jug or cafetiere to brew up in would be essential for those who like to do so.. Some pegs for hanging up coats and hats would be a good addition too. But these are minor niggles only, and I'd certainly stay again.

A simple but well equipped one bedroom apartment. Centrally situated and with free parking being a bonus.
