Spacious 2BDR Flat By Diakonia Residences with Balcony and Outdoor Dining

Location was fairly central, not far from the main places in the city.

The property needed more of a clean; floors throughout were dirty, the limited cutlery wasn’t clean and there was an unpleasant smell in the apartment, which you could smell on the sofa bed. The key fob didn’t work on the inner door, we reported this to the host and whilst they were responsive, they didn’t actually bring a new one - this meant we had to ask other people to let us in, which luckily they did. A few more things were needed - for example there was no bathmat or tea towel and we had to ask for sheets to be brought for the sofa bed. We are happy with basic, especially for the reasonable price, but we do expect places to be clean and accessible.

After considerable difficulties gaining access to the apartment, partially caused by the unhelpful shop assistant in the Nisa store where the key nest was supposed to be and the fact that booking . Com had not forwarded the access code to us. The apartment was not very clean, bedding crumpled and the towels were wet. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in the apartment too.

Close to where we needed to go. Very Spacious flat. Good location in city centre. Owner quick to respond to all queries.

Bathroom very grubby and cold! and water did not drain whilst showering in bath.

Very spacious and decorated very well, the bed was sooo comfy slept very very well, nice and quiet and great location with plenty of local shops and food outlets right outside of the apartment, will def book again next time we are in birmingham thank you

The balcony

I requested early check in and stated my reasons, my artist had an event and needed to get ready and had No reply... The bathroom door would not open and my artist was locked in bathroom for 40 minutes, we missed his show. Cleaners came at 15:10 when we checked in at 15:00 so for the 2 days we had no clean towels or bedding. I have pictures of hairs on pillows and bed lining in kitchen caused me to trip over. I could not locate the lock box for over 30 minutes. Overall as an artist Manager I was embarrassed to have my client in these conditions.

The space was fantastic. Great location for university.

The air vents noise in each room that couldn't be switched off.

I cannot rate this favourably because the renting out of this property appears to be in breach of the leasehold agreement. We were told this having had to contact the management company because we had no means to enter the apartment due to no receipt of the key access instructions. This made us feel like we were condoning a practise which is unethical. Have tried to find an alternative means of contacting booking.com about this but failed.

Feeling part of a bad arrangement. If communication hadn't failed with regards to the key access we wouldn't have been aware of the issues that we found difficult to reconcile. The fact we had already paid meant withdrawal of the booking wasn't possible at the time.
