"Cosy cottage in a lovely area"

9.0

Situated within walking distance to Denby Dale where there are good options for eating out/takeaways/dog friendly pub. The cottage is cosy and perfect for a short walking holiday. Jonno was very friendly and helpful for local information. We hope to return again.

"A fantastic and memorable stay in a super location."

10.0

Everything was spot on. Everything you need is there and nothing is scrimped on or corners cut. It was a real pleasure to stay here and the hens were the icing on the cake for the kids. The location is fantastic as well.

Cannot think of anything we didn't like.

Beautiful spacious apartment. Lots of traditional features alongside some modern aspects. The grandkids loved the chickens and collecting eggs which were free to take. Great communication from owners . Definitely go back 😊

Nothing all good 👍

"Character cottage stay, warm and cosy. Good, quiet location."

10.0

Lovely property with character. Lovely quiet location. Everything you could need was there. Beds were comfortable and clean. Hosts were fantastic, left numbers if we needed them. Left us Milk and some chocolates. Excellent directions to find it. Lovely to be able to collect fresh eggs from the chickens in the morning.

"Lovely countryside getaway"

10.0

This is a gorgeous apartment, absolutely spotless, with everything you need in it. The beds were comfy and it gets pitch black at night so made it easy to drift off - I normally struggle to sleep somewhere near but had no issues! The bathroom was very modern, good shower pressure and a sizable bath. The heating was adjustable so it was very easy to keep warm enough even in a particularly cold November week. The guidebook they put together is great too and we had a great time at all of their recommendations we tried. The garden was fully enclosed and our Cocker x Cavalier wouldn't be able to get out, as long as your dog is this size or bigger the garden is very secure - Very small dogs might be able to slip under the gate or through fences but that's more Chihuahuas and toy breeds. Our dog also loved the provided dog bed more than his own! The chickens were fun to visit and it was great to nip out and feed them - Don't worry though your dog won't be able to get through, though ours had some fun sniffing under the fence! It was well situated, only a very short drive from lots of places we wanted to go, and very quiet. We loved the property so much we stayed in more than we planned to play board games (For any board game lovers the table is big enough even for large game boards) after stocking up the fridge at cannon hall farm shop (A must visit). Couldn't recommend here enough, we already want to go back!

The only minor recommendation we'd give is if you're cooking the frying pans are smaller than what we are used to, so we had to cook in batches, but this was very minor and we'd just bring a bigger pan next time!
