We enjoyed our stay. Quiet position with lovely river views. We enjoyed having plenty of space. Reasonably well equipped kitchen. Previous guests had commented on the cost of power and how quickly they consumed units but we didn't find this a problem.

We felt that we were given too many "rules and regulations" about how to look after a property and how to leave it on departure. They could be phrased less rigidly. Times for arrival and departure are too rigid. Simple instructions for all electrical appliances need to be included.

"Riverside lodge"

9.0

We had a fab 3 bed lodge, 2 double and one twin bedroom, all ensuite, plus a wc downstairs. Lots of light from the huge windows/ doors, and lovely views over the river. It was about 20 mins walk ( partly on road) over a bridge to the town. Some nice walks from there, particularly the Ballykissane Centenary loop. So peaceful through countryside and along the river. Also the railway walk, through woods and along the river. There is an Aldi and Lidl in town, as well as other shops, cafes etc. Killorglin is a great base for sightseeing. So much stunning scenery!

The electric hob was very slow! Needs updated. Also, we weren't happy at having to pay twice for electricity, £35 included in the original cost, then an extra £40 which was credited to the meter. As it was warm we didn't need the heating on, so still had about £20 unused. I expected this would be refunded to us, but no refunds are given. This would put us off booking again with Trident, which is a shame, as everything else was good.

Everything

Maybe floor boards on the balcony need some attention but it wasn't any issue for us.

The location is brilliant. It's right on the ring of Kerry. But it's set off the road so you don't hear too much traffic. On the back of the property there is a lovely river and beyond that you have mountains. On the river there are several families of swans. We saw herons, cranes and otters too. The sun is on the back of the house and the balcony in the afternoons and evenings. It only takes a 13 min walk into town or 3 mins by car and there is a free carpark in town. The car park space for the property is right outside the front door and is free. The property itself is lovely, if a little tatty in places. Like it just needs sprucing up a bit in places. But everything works and there's a lot of space. For us we paid 600 euros for 6 nights which for the location and size of the property was really excellent value for money. However we spent 120 euros on heating the place. But that was still only 720 euros for 6 nights which is actually still good value for money. You just need to get your head around paying for the bills. Deidre who managed the property was great and answered all the questions promptly. The property had everything you needed. But note you might need to stop at the shops before you arrive because there is no "starter food" like milk or bread or eggs or anything, so if you don't get something you might be hungry on arrival. There is a lovely place for breakfast just down the road called the fishery. There is an amazing restaurant called the Bianconi in town which I would definitely recommend but you must book as they are busy.

Only really one thing. You get charged for the electric. The house uses underfloor heating which is actually lovely but costs a lot to run and takes ages to warm up. We arrived and the house was cold. It took 2 full days to warm up, which was OK for us as we stayed for 6 days. However it's very expensive to heat. We arrived and turned the heating on and the water. And there was 44 euros on the meter in credit. But that only lasted 2 days. Roughly speaking after we used that up we topped up about 20 euros a day. Check out says you have to top up the meter when you leave so it is the same as when you arrived. So that was another 40 euros. So for 6 days we spent about 120 euros. This was the end of March going into Easter. So the weather wasn't bitterly cold but it wasn't warm either. I think if you stay in the summer this would not be an issue and you would just have to pay for the hot water.

"Beautiful views."

Great location and scenery. Very clean & well equipped. Soft fluffy white towels. Middle room comfy bed.

Unsafe to walk into town and a few things needed attention: Loose taps in downstairs toilet & en-suite. Rotten decking on ground floor. Middle bedroom shower mouldy & slow to drain. Burn marks on kitchen work tops.
