An elegant studio apartment in Reykjavik - Great Location

Awesome location by the beach. Well equipped kitchen.

Bathroom has some mold problem.

The location was great - by the ocean but easy to get into the city.

- Very good instructions and advice provided by the host - Very close to the sea - Walking distance to downtown - Very calm area - Beautiful view - Free parking on the street - The kitchen was equipped with tableware, coffee and tea - Washing machine and detergent are provided - Owner also added outdoor table and chair for us

- The pots and pants had lots of scratches inside and were not suitable for use - A lot of noise from the adjacent house in the mornings

The location : there was a bus station very close to the apartment. There was all we need : washing machine, airer, microwave, dishes, hotplate, kettle, cafetière, and a heater. There was also salt, pepper, oil, coffee and tea.

Without being dirty, it wasn't perfectly clean, especially in the bathroom.

Excellent location on the ocean. Beautiful view from the huge window of the room. You can take walks on the ocean shore, and the center can be reached in about 20 minutes. Free parking on the street, in front of our house, the owner parks his car. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. All in all, we made a good choice and we felt very good here. But because I was in Iceland for the second time and I can compare the accommodations, I will deduct a point for what I listed in the negative.

As negative parts: - cleaning is done only on the surface, we had to defrost the refrigerator and wash it. In the coffee maker there was left over from the former tenants. There was a lot of dust in the wardrobe. And I could go on..... - I used earplugs to be able to rest in the morning, the walls of the house are very thin and you can hear any movement outside, especially from the owner's car.

I basically liked everything about this place. It's pretty, comfortable, and well-equipped. Kjartan, the owner, even has a 8 page PDF file prepared for guests, containg infos on how to get to the property, activities, restaurants, and cool places to check out! That really helped me out. =) Plus, you have a beautiful view on the sea, which you can walk by whenever you feel like it. Furthermore, unless you dislike walking, it only takes roughly 20m to walk downtown, where most shops, and touristic activities are.

The only thing that proved annoying to me was noise. The heating system is quite noisy at night with its constant low-frequency vibrations (since you sleep "close" to it), so if you're a light sleeper, or sensitive to sound like me, earplugs will definitely come in handy! Also, on windy nights, it can get really, really noisy and loud at times. So, ditto; earplugs will help you.
