Achaniar Cottage

Great location, very handy with a short walk to the Town Centre and all that provides. Everything you'd expect is provided, clean and would be comfortable for 2 couples. Parking on site is very handy as can be busy elsewhere.

Sorry, but the constant automated messages felt very bot like, with no personal feel at all. I felt the strict entry and exit times (with ridiculous cost for 1 extra hour entry and exit, along with other extras) enough for me to photograph our entry time and exit... I haven't came across this level of non personal contact before with so many reminders of the limitations. (I have owned holiday homes previously so understand some constraints exist) We'd return for sure but please give some more thought to professional contact if you feel 3 or 4 messages, reminders per day is warranted.

Lovely central location, just a two minute walk into town and no need to drive through the centre of town to get there. It has one park space so no need to pay for parking. The cottage itself was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The sofa bed is futon so the mattress is quite a bit harder than a normal mattress but the person sleeping on it got used it. There was a slight issue because we didn’t have linen for the sofa bed but even though we realised after the letting office was closed the staff sorted it out very quickly and were very pleasant. Overall it was a great place for the three of us to have as a base for attending a wedding.

The only things are very slight niggles. There were only two dishwasher tablets and were staying four nights. As it happens we were out for dinner on three nights so didn’t accumulate much but if it hadn’t been a weekend of celebrations we would probably have eaten in more and been less happy to wash dishes by hand. The Wi-Fi works intermittently in one of the bedrooms and mobile reception is very poor in the location so getting or making phone calls can be difficult. However since we were out most of the time it wasn’t a big issue. There was a small damp patch by the bathroom door when we came and it persisted throughout our stay. It might be coming from under the shower. It wasn’t a problem for us but it did give off a slight dampish smell.
