Nice apartment with an indoor fireplace

Our stay at Sjoe Guesthouse Cottage was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, the hostess went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Not only did they upgrade us to a larger cottage, but it was equipped with everything we could possibly need. The little touches like having fruit and rusks to snack on were greatly appreciated. We had a truly lovely time in this charming cottage in Struisbaai. Dankie Tannie Isabel vir 'n ongelooflike lekker tyd.

Everything was perfect

The place looked amazing and very well thought out. It also had everything one could ask for during their stay. This is a truly unique property. Absolutely love and recommend!

The shower water suddenly stopped a few times during our showers.

We very much appreciated the provisions for loadshedding, such as battery-backup light bulbs, a torch, and a gas stove. There was also a fire set up, ready to light, which was most welcome.

We were woken up at 6h30 by big trucks coming to offload at the large hardware store, diagonally opposite the guesthouse.

Simply everything!! What an enormous accommodation, it was huge! It was so well decorated and the lay out of the whole setting was well thought out. Perfect thinking how you can maximize your space. It felt like the most fashionable-thinking yet modern and cosy-thinking renovator just passed through. First of all there was a spacious living area with 2 big sofas and a most cosy built-in fireplace next to it. Attached was a big open kitchen with literally everything (in multiples) that you needed and/or could use. Then you could enter the sleeping room with a big bed, which lead on to the bathroom. The whole accommodation had such a unique style and atmosphere that I think everyone will love. Everything just seemed to match with each other and the whole setting. I picked up some great ideas for my own home. The bathroom was not that big but thanks to innovative thinking they got the maximum potential out of it , and it felt really spacious because of it. The floor, the specific decoration, the lighting etc etc, I can't seem to stop writing about it. The walk in-shower was awesome as well! Not to mention the parking space that was right in front of the accommodation (a meter away from it) and your own terrace outside with a BBQ etc. I am also obliged to mention the enormously friendly host! She was very communicative, friendly, spontaneous, interested and helpful. She made an almost personalised welcome-book as well with extra needed info for her guests. She was just too kind and even gave us a personal item of hers without even thinking about it when we asked her where she bought the item (so we could buy it ourselves). (Thank you for that again!) The whole accommodation was also well maintained and really clean. The Wifi was also great. The location of the place was also perfect: close to everything but it also felt secluded at the same time and it was really quiet there. I have to admit that this place was probably the best we had in South Africa...!!
