"Big compound - clean and safe but offers no privacy"

It was clean and safe

It is a big compound offering little privacy, If you sit outside your neighbour is 2 m away and the braai area adjacent to the unit. It is a functional overnight facility, but offer nothing else. If you look for an in and out place to overnight it is a good option. But it is 4 buildings surrounded by brick paving for parking and nothing else. Nothing visually appealing. I had a need for a place that is more "soft on the eye" than just a sleeping unit with no place to sit outside in privacy and at least see some greenery or plants and not just buildings and neighbours. But again - good place for overnight stay if you are not looking for a more touristy visually appealing place. I spend the next night in Durbanville in a very appealling place with a garden, total privacy for R150 less. and the unit is much more elegant and smart. For R850 as a single traveller I could have get more value for money elsewhere. There was also no desk or working space in the unit apart from a sofa which is totally worn out. But - everything was clean

Nice safe and quiet location.

Swimmingpool could be cleaner and sun chairs would be nice for some tanning. We asked for twin beds, but got a double bed.

"Comfortable and enjoyable stay"

We really had a good stay and cannot complain about anything, even though we only realised after the first shower early morning that the geyser was switched off. Not sure if the Karin just forgot to mention that we needed to switch it on ourselves, or whether they forgot to switch it on. The gas bottle for the little stove was also empty but they exchanged it as soon as we reported it. These two matters were not issues for us at all. I only mention it so that they can perhaps pay attention to it before guests check in. The stay was very comfortable and the premises nice and clean. Hexberg Cottages is the perfect spot for a couple of friends to stay together when having to attend a wedding or event in Wellington.
