We booked a place in Aegina (Kalokenti Studios) at 3:55pm and told them we’d check in around 5–6pm. She didn’t say anything until after 5pm, then messaged saying they actually had no room. When we went there at 5:40pm, they pushed us to cancel the booking under “personal reasons” and sent us to a remote alternative place, which we had to pay €120 cash for. It completely ruined our evening, and undermines Booking.com because it is dodgy and against their rules.

I AM SORRY BUT I DON'T HAVE ANY FREE ROOM....PLEASE CALL ME ....THANK YOU.” 5:40 PM In-person cancellation at original property --- ❗ INCIDENT DETAILS Property directed us to cancel under “personal reasons”, promising no 50% fee Pressured into remote alternative accommodation, paid €120 cash Alternative was not comparable, caused major disruption --- ⚖️ CONSEQUENCES Placement in remote, unsuitable accommodation Loss of enjoyable evening in Aegina Trip experience disrupted --- 📌 POLICY VIOLATIONS Failure to honour confirmed reservations Coercion of guest to cancel Attempted system manipulation to avoid penalties or commission Off-platform cash payment, violating Booking.com rules Misrepresentation of availability, breaching transparency policies > Timeline shows insufficient notice — property cannot excuse deliberate failure or coercion.

Όλα ήταν υπέροχα. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ για τη φιλοξενία. Σίγουρα θα ξανά έρθουμε!

Το κατάλυμα είναι σε όμορφη τοποθεσία, ανοίγεις το παράθυρο κ βλέπεις θάλασσα. Όμορφο και καθαρό δωμάτιο. Η Σταυρούλα (ιδιοκτήτρια) ευγενέστατη και φιλόξενη (μας μπούσταρε με μπάρες για τον αγώνα)

Πολύ κοντά στην πόλη. Εξαιρετική η κα Σταυρουλα. Πολυ ευχάριστη κ ευγενική. Ομορφα διακοσμησμενο το δωμάτιο με έναν υπέροχο κήπο.

I really liked the fact that to room came with a small kitchen with plenty of amenities, e.g water boiler, fridge etc. I was mid january when we were there, and it was really cold outside. So the fact that the room had a heater (aircon unit) that worked well was great.
