La bouganville Apartments

Excellent place to stay, on walking distance of restaurants, shops and the beach The apartment is very well equipped, and spacious for 4 people

- Electronic shades for completely dark bedroom - Spacious apartment - Completely new bathroom - Organisation and Hints via notes are very helpful - Quick response of Roberta to questions via WhatsApp eventhough she was not around - City centre as well as port and beaches are in walking distance

- Kitchen equipment needs to be renewed - Matresses are old - Pillows are too hard (eventhough we kinda like harder pillows)

The info before arriving was really helpful and Roberta answered all my questions in advance. I got a very friendly welcome and was so well looked after all week. Roberta gave us lots of personal tips, including on where the best locals beach, good range of restourants and taking me to an amazing star gazing spot. Snorkel trips can easily be arranged with Snorkel Cala Gonone, highly recommed as guide is knowledgeable and it gives you confidence and understanding of local conditions. The apartment had a big kitchen living area with fantastic views on two sides-great space for eating and watching sunset/rise with a glass of wine. It is possible to get to by bus from the airport (2 hrs or so for Euro 16), or get an airport shuttle- so you don't have to drive:)

The bedrooms are connected so you have to pass through one to get to the bathroom. The other room is totally private. If you are 2 couple hoping for a romantic time this may not be ideal! For a family or group of friends it is absolutely perfect though. The apartment is a 15 minute walk uphill from the centre of town, and 10 mins from supermarket. If you are not driving then you need to be fit enough for that. There are nice gelateria and cafe's on the way from town to the apartment though... ;)

Exceptionally clean & well maintained . We had plenty of space to eat together as a large group. And a large covered area outside to dry our caving equipment . The kitchen had everything you could need. Roberta was so helpful with information from Good walks to best places to get food .

Roberta, our host is very friendly, informative and welcoming. The apartment has a beautiful view of morning sunrise over the lovely sea and rock mountain. Lucky to catch a glimpse of some mountain goats grazing the mountain path. We felt very much at home with Roberta and her mum’s very kind hospitality. We are extremely glad to have chosen La Bouganville and will certainly stay here again if we come back to Cala Gonone.

Travel light will be advisable if stay at the higher floor as there are a few flights of staircase to carry luggages up.

Roberta is an awesome host, she is extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. As a local she knows everything about Cala Gonone and the area and is always ready to provide you with informations and recommendations. Our appartment was spacious, well furnished and in good shape. I would definitely stay there again.
